Hm.... I've never been to Germany. ^^ I'm in. Do you think they'll have a sense of humor about the way I claim that the leading cause of death in my family is Germans? (According to my brother, who went two years ago: no.)

E pluribus unum, baby.

Hmmm... I wasn't aware that Germans have a sense of humor at all.

Actually they do, it's just a little strange by American standards.

wow there is some really deep stuff in here, I am only 18 barely experienced anything and the closest thing i have had to someone dying on me is an old lady faintin in the computer game shop i work in - although i love stars.

I love the view of the sky so much i paint my room dark blue and black then painted a load of star constellations and the milky way on the ceilin and walls in glow in the dark paint - when you turn the light off in the night you get this amazin effect that i have stunned friends with - you seem to loose all definitions of the walls and it gives you a weird floaty feelin sometimes - especially if i am slightly stoned (which is not often lol) or drunk.

ha! ya, not entirely. but i figure if i can magically bring in a piano in here, i should be able to play the rach 3. biggrin but yes, i love rachmaninoff too. he's my fav composer. and i do play a lot of his stuff, and i am trying to learn the rach 3, but it's difficult at the moment as i have no piano to practice on. frown

Mozart as well as Vivaldi. Betehoven too. I'm sure that's not all I love, but those are the major ones...

ya i've played most all of the classical composers. rach was the only one who really gave me a run for my money. i love the difficulty of it, and the richness of the sounds. mmm, so much fun to play. it's funny cause i only took piano cause my sisters played and being the youngest, of course i wanted to do everything they did. my parents said ok with one stipulation: i had to take lessons for a minimum of 2 years (good thinking, so i wouldn't try it and quit after a month). so after the two years i was like, "ok, i'm done." and my piano teacher went "NOOOOOOO!!!!!" she begged my parents to keep me in piano, so i did, and just stopped taking lessons in the summer so i could have my vacation. i was playing Fur Elise (the original, full version with the original fingering) by the time i was 7. i'm so glad my parents convinced me to stay in piano. nearly 20 years later, it's still one of my best de-stressors and things i love.

Pounce, i would so love to hear you play piano. Its my favourite musical instrument, and is so beautiful when its played well. Unfortunately, despite being fairly musical, i play it incredibly badly! Never had lessons or anything like that.

My main musical stuff lies with brass instruments. I used to play french horn, and at age 10 was the youngest member of the Northern Regional Orchestra. At 13 i played 1st horn for Mozart's 5th Horn Concerto, to an ordience of nearly 1000 people- by far the scariest moment of my life!!! At 15 i gave it up, as it took up all of my free time. I sooo regret that now!

thank you both! i love playing, it's so relaxing for me. it actually is one of the reasons i got into the creative arts therapy field, cause i saw how much it helped me when i was depressed or stressed out. i would love to play for you! my close friend recorded me once and uploaded it onto her computer to burn onto a cd. i should see if i could get a copy of that. it's one of the few times someone caught me just "jamming." i rarely play my own stuff, usually just play everyone else's smile i'm not much of a composer myself, but i have fun when i do. i just think i suck at it so i won't let anyone listen ubblol
