Welcome aboard lass. Feel free to ask for anything you might need. If you want to jump back into poi and you haven't done it for a while it depends on how good you were and how dedicated you want to be. I still have my original pair of socks with tennis balls that have been weighted down with pennies and they never stopped serving me. Cheap and efficient, not to mention machine washable.

I would agree with warior on that socks and tennis balls are the easiest, cheapest way to have a set of practice poi. If you know you want to really practice or just play outside then you could get a pair of flag poi or contact poi. They have them both here on HoP and are offered in lots of bright colors which I think can make your practice or play more fun since you have your favorite colors. Besides how can you not be smiling swinging fluorescent poi around. Both will be easy to learn the basics with and then some. Some advanced stuff like the cateyes may become a little trickier with the flags because of drag and what not. I use a set of contact poi as my main practice poi now and love it.

thanks guys and i want to get really good at it i loved it wwhen i first started and lernt some tricks but i stop cause well my poi were taken off me
but nowthey cant stop me so.. why not go back to some think i loved??

Hi Hannah! Welcome
You can also get tail-poi with detachable tails. These are fantastic to learn with because you can leave the tail on to make it easier to watch your planes and patterns and the such, but then you can take the tails off when you're tackling things like butterflies and weaves so you don't get tangled.
