Hi All! I'm looking forward to meeting you all and learning from you! Here's my introduction. grin

Name: I tend to go by Rainbows and Daydreams online, but my "in real life" name is Amy. wink

Location:I live in Armidale which is in NSW, Australia. It's on top of a mountain and away from the coast.

Hometown: I grew up in a small town called Muswellbrook. It's hot and surrounded by coal mines and power stations. It's not a place I'm fond of.

Birthday (sign?):I just had a birthday on Friday 13th of August. I am a luscious Leo.

Age:27

Sex: Female

Occupation(s): I'm currently studying massage therapy.

Favourite Food(s): Paella, Portuguese BBQ Chicken, chocolate self saucing pudding, banana cake (all home made, of course!)

Favourite Colour(s): My favourite colour is rainbow, closely followed by purple.

Toys: Poi (last count 6 pairs. Fire poi, flag poi, rainbow ribbon poi, LED poi, Flowtoy LED poi (that I just got for my birthday!!) and sock poi), juggling balls, rings and clubs, stunt kites and kites in general. I also have a thing for tin toys (robots etc) and have a growing Astroboy toy/object collection. wink

Hobbies other than the obvious: Baking, photography, gardening. I'm pretty passionate about the environment and sustainability.

Education: Been to uni doing something I didn't really like, didn't finish. Now studying something I do like (Through TAFE) and am planning on going back to uni to study complementary medicine.

Favourite Book(s): The Picture of Dorian Gray, Catch 22, Terry Pratchett novels. There are more, I like books.

Favourite Movie(s): Amelie, The Labyrinth, Mallrats

Godzilla vs. a Star Wars Star Destroyer. Who wins? Why?Hmmmmm, tough question. I'm going to assume this is in the future and Godzilla has evolved making this a far more even fight. Godzilla's still the under dog, so I'd back him because I'm a softie. He'd win by using break dancing skills and some sort of dancing revolution would then begin.

Favourite TV show(s): Firefly, United States of Tara, Simpsons, Futurama, NCIS.

Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) I would like to become a multidisciplinary alternative therapy practitioner.

Favourite Music Artists/Composers: A question with too many answers. I like music a lot. My all time favourite band is TV on the Radio.

Do you think these pants make my butt look too big? Big, but not too big.

Favourite ice cream flavour(s): Peppermint choc chip.

Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella?* How is this even a question?! I can understand comparing marmite and vegemite, but Nutella? For the record, I despise marmite, I'm Australian so I'm conditioned to like vegemite and I quite like nutella, though necessity dictates that it should not be in the house too often, lest I end up the size of one. wink

Thanks very much for the time in the spot light, I hope I haven't made too many enemies dues to my extreme marmite/vegemite/nutella views. tongue2

I've been doing poi for about 4 years now. I've been teaching myself from youtube/playpoi and home of poi DVDs since then.

I think I've hit a bit of a brick wall though, not practising with other people and getting the feedback and challenge that comes with that. That's what brought me here, I guess. If I can't have that face-to-face feedback/inspiration/advice in my community hopefully I'll get it here and can move on in my practice. smile

I should seriously get hold of some Vegemite.

And welcome to HoP!

Avoid the squirrels.

Just don't go mental with the vegemite and you should enjoy it. I think there's nothing quite like a 'cuppa tea with a bit of buttered and sparsely vegemited-toast. You just need to remember that a little goes a long way.

I'm trying to make a list of mental notes of things to remember; accept the popcorn, don't accept the squirrels, let the 3rd order motions break my brain.

I'd tell you to embrace the madness and accept this as your new, loving home, but you're already fitting in so well.

What shall I call you, I never call anyone simply by the name they give. I could call you Amy, but you just gave it to us, you said its your "irl" name, and this is part of real life, but its just too easy. Its a nice name but meh, no challenge in obtaining it. Rainbows and Daydreams is nice, but long, I suppose I could just call you Rainbows, or Daydreams, or and, or RaD. Rainbows makes me think of Rainbow in the Dark, which makes me think of the late great Dio. I then think of other songs he did, a particular favorite is Don't Talk to Strangers... I think I'm going to refer to you as Stranger, yeah... that'll work.

What was I talking about? Oh well, welcome to the madness rainbow, embrace it cause there ain't no point fighting it, its already a part of you.

Don't let your world end with you

p.s. No, just in case you're going to ask, I did not misspell Warrior, its supposed to be like that.

Stream of consciousness much? tongue2

Rainbow: Just never come across it. Eat Marmite often and have had Nutella (best with bananananananananananananas on toast, like peanut butter).
