Hometown: Born in Rhode Island, moved to Tampa, Florida area when I was ten and now live in St. Augustine, Florida [oldest city in the nation, weirdest place ever]

Toys: blue LED poi, pretty tailed poi and b&w striped sock poi [no fire yet...]
Hobbies other than the obvious: b&w photography, porcelain sculpture, playing with and loving on my cats, traveling whenever I can
Education: in college about to get my BFA in Fine Arts
TV shows: I have just gotten into law & order and I can't stop [svu is dangerously addictive!]
Plans for life in general: I am interested in human factors and possibly industrial design. My current goal is to attend Burning Man 2009 and hopefully be good at fire poi by then!

I sort of randomly became interested in poi because my boyfriend is a juggler and I thought poi looked interesting. I have picked it up fairly quickly but I'm feeling a little stuck. So far I can do butterfly, buzzsaw, three beat weave [forward & reverse], chasing the sun, behind the back butterfly [behind my shoulders not my waist], some flowers and isolations. Having trouble with the five beat weave and behind the back weaves. So far I have learned that sleeping on a move and trying it again the next day often helps. I have yet to meet someone near me to spin with and teach me some moves.
