Enrolled to vote? (Australians?)

As you may or may not know the election was called over the weekend.

Due to changes in the enrolment process if you want to vote now only have until 8pm Wednesday to do so.

So if you want to vote get in quick and enrol, don’t for get to remind your friends too.

lots'o'love,

Blue

Ps. Here is a funny video about the subject.

Still waiting on the decision for Bennelong. The Coalition losing is one thing, but Howard losing his seat would be another!

Well what a landslide! Glory be!
Everyone on the ABCTV coverage I saw looked so happy! The newsreaders, even Costello! I have never actually seen the man smile before!
I feel such a relief... there seemed to be so many strong good people got in too.. phew.

So its all over for little Johnny huh.

Hmmm, I'll be waiting for my fine to turn up now I suppose... Slacker for not un-enrolling I guess, being in Eng-guh-land and non-resident might count for something when I have to fill in the form.
But seeing as I've got out of two fines previously, maybe they won't be so nice to me this time.

SOOOOOO glad to have missed all the pre-election media though.

Only three things are certain: Death, Taxes, and that England will not win back the Ashes in this lifetime.

I'm happy. I voted Labour. It's time for a change.

I just loved watching the election last night when they were crossing to some of the Liberals how they would not give in.

'It's really still early to say anything. We are still in with a chance.' They just wouldn't concede when it was obvious they were going to lose!

.All things are beautiful if we take the time to look.

Ya the highest ranking Liberal in the country is now the mayor of Brisbane!

One thinga bout Rudd is that he is really concerned with the quality of education. That suits me better than someone who bleated about the 'economy' all the time whilst allowing our wealth to be spent on torture camps for refugees! Moral wealth counts for something too, Mr Howard, so good riddance. I hope one of the first things Rudd does is a serious clean out of the Depts responsible for our shame around compulsory detention.. including having outsourced their (mis)management to foreign (US) companies!!!)

or maybe its just as he says - he wants to spend more time with his family. can hardly blame a bloke for wanting to spend more time with his kids - esp after 11 yrs of treasury.
if i was him id do the same.

Sadly, I believe Rudd has every intension of detension for refugees, and detaning them offshore. I am not sure of the details... was just a head-line in a news story. Will look for details.

on a completely trivial note, here's my cake stall report:

on arrival at the local school, I was unsure about the availability of cakes this year - it was pouring with rain, and I wondered what brave soul would be selling cakes today...

after arriving beyond the hallowed gates, I saw the cake stall!!

full of cornflake cakes, tea cakes, donuts, scones, and biscuits...

having gone to vote before breakky, I dived on the only dill savoury pikelets I could find - yummmm....

voted - check
wore my rights at work t shirt - check
bought cakes - check

Great work Ade, i was bitterly disapointed this year to find that there was no cake stall at my local primary school.

There was a great sausage sizzle though and i got to go back to my old primary school which was pretty cool.

Obviousely you guys are going to the wrong kind of polling booths :P . Primary schools are the best ones to hit up if you want to have some celebratory cake or a sausage.

I vote at the local health/yoga centre. Where we queue up, you see stacks of yoga mats in the corner. I have been good enough not to pinch any so far.

It was a day for screaming at inanimate objects.

What this calls for is a special mix of psychology and extreme violence...
