I went to get into my car earlier today and the damn handle broke off in my hand. I still have a little bit still on there, but it is hard to open it with it and I do not know how long it will stay. Anyone know how to put a handle on a 97 Toyota Tercel?

Buy a new one and get the repair manual for the car, if you're mechanically capable it shouldn't be that hard to replace.

Ha ha that happened to me a few weeks ago. I had to get in through the passenger side for a week before I could get a replacement handle!

Well so far the little bit that is left is letting me in. I am going to try some of that Jb stuff on it.

Duct tape.

If I could, I would. This is something that duct tape will not fix.

If duct tape isn't working, you're just not using enough of the stuff.

DUCT TAPE FIXES ALL!

Sorry TribalBeatsSouix, and I realise you didn't invented the current idiom...'sucks' this that or the other... but really, I find the title of your thread offensive as well as unrelated to the topic you are asking about. To get an answer to a question, try putting the thread in Help (not discussion, or as it's been moved to, chat) and naming it something like "re-attaching car handle".

Cheers

Sorry that phrase offended you, it is just a common phrase used here and with the people I know and sorry for posting this in the wrong forum.

Oh it is a common phrase here too. But you wouldn’t walk in to a room filled with strangers and shout it out at the top of your voice would you? wink

I would do that.

That is fine but you can imaging that the reception would be rather hostile.

Any way I think that gluing the handle on would be worth a try, but there would be a lot of force put on the join when opening and closing the door.

I am known for speaking my mind and have never had anyone hostile over what I have said.

I am going to try the JB Weld. I just do not have the time to find a replacement and install it.

Hey look I’m not having a go, you just need to remember that when you post on this board it is being broad cast to many different countries to people of many different cultures. It is nice to respect others by being polite.

There are many ways to speak your mind with out being rude and impolite.
