heya Jon! welcome to HOP! hug i used to live in Denver and i know several people out that way who spin. have you ever gone down to Confluence Park on Sundays? there's always a big group of people who go down and spin. it should still be going on right now, they don't typically stop until the weather gets cold, like more around late October-ish.

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

And would that be Nutella, Marmite, or Vegemite?

Thanks Pounce, I'll check that out!

Thanks Teeth (Hope you don't mind me shortening that username of yours).

And Doc...quite honestly, I've never had Vegemite or Marmite, so I can't very well say which is my favorite, especially considering the last time I had Nutella was years ago. I'll have to try them all sometime to figure that one out.

let me know if you have any trouble meeting up with people. i still know plenty of spinners and i can get ahold of them for you if needed. i can't promise on the niceness of them (ubblol) but they are very good spinners.

Well, I might have issues with the fact that it's a 30 minute drive to meet people I don't know so they can teach me poi. Yeah, not sure my parents are gonna be okay with that. But I'm damn well gonna try.

but yeah, if you could get in contact with any of your friends and see if they'd be willing to teach, that would make me very happy. Thanks again, Pounce!

sure no prob smile i think there may even be some people in Boulder who do poi as well. in fact i know there are people there, i just am not as familiar with them personally. but i went to a party that was hosted by several spinners up there when i first moved to Denver. ooh, ya, i forgot. check out ColoradoFireTribe@yahoogroups.com it's an email group i stumbled across and that's partially how i connected with fire people there.

If they are discouraged then they have forgotten what it's like to have started afresh.

We all started off knowing nothing about poi, staff, etc. Nothing to be ashamed about that smile hug

OH, and by the way, I managed to get ahold of some Nutella. That stuff is pretty darn good. Still have yet to try Marmite and Vegemite though.

oh, dear, sorry about Pounce - I just couldn't resist it! You know I don't mean it really!! biggrin

By the way I'm thinking of buying up a whole load of those wee Motel/Hotel slice of toast size packet of Marmite and include them in each HoP order that goes out just to do the edumacation thing. The world is missing out on this taste sensation and that's a crime!
I also think I need to check the database for Pounce & Doc Lightning's address and send you both a big jar of the stuff biggrin

Oh and wavehello Kichi - welcome to HoP!

Your dedication to the Marmite indoctrination is nothing short of astounding. I'd take my hat off to you, but you'd slather it in Marmite and make me eat it.
