Anyone going from London area with space? Or anyone can give me good directions for public transport? Looked at the trains but there are no trains going back on Sunday according to National Rail.

Don't want to buy my ticket if I have no way to get there & back!!

OK people Holton heath IS the closest station but it's quite a walk the easiest way to get to holton lee is:

poole or Wareham train stations (both within 10-15 minute drive.) Wareham I think may be closer, slightly.

Definately trains back from poole sunday night last will be about 10ish pm

From both of these stations you can get the number 40 bus (wilts and dorset) which stops almost opposite holton Lee entrance or at worst bakers arms roundabout which is about 500 yards from holton lee entrance.

for detailed info or to call for more info

Wilts and dorset web pages

The drive is about 1/4 mile long you can walk or possibly thumb someone else coming in, but once through the gate your ready to camp!

Taxi's

Best from Wareham (possibly holton heath)

County Taxis - 01929 553835

said £8-10 for 4 seater probably fit 2 or 3 people depending upon how much you bring

Station cars & taxis - 01929 550123

said probably £15 for an 8 seater which they have several of, will probably fit 4 people comfortably

Poole Taxi's probably slightly more expensive

wareham taxi's

I'll try and find out about taxi's from holton Heath to Holton lee tomorrow for you all

If possible if people can travel together on trains sharing a cab could be as little as a couple of quid I'm not 100% on bus costs

It may be a little far away but it does mean we don't get disturbed and you can watch the deer, horses cows, pheasants, foxes, badgers etc on the section of forest/heath about 2 mins walk away. (I saw all those in the space of 30 minutes last year on the night shift on the gate ubblol )

if you have any questions let me know and I'll get on it for you grouphug

You gonna be there Chutney? smile

Now i just need to figure out how me and bex are getting from budleigh salterton in devon, up to poole.

Is anyone driving from or through exeter area. Or anyone going up on the train, maybe if we get same train we can share a taxi from the station.

Maybe pm me a phone number and i'll give you a call.

cheers,

shouldn't be a problem Will. If our super helpers aren't convinced I know who you are wink as long as you have something with your name on that no one else is likely to have like debit card, name tag sown in your pants and the reference you'll be fine.
