Hi all, the name's Damian and Im from Fareham, UK(in the county of Hampshire.)
Im a 31 year old guy into all sorts of things. I learnt the basic juggling routine with 3 balls and am progressing well there.
I have literally just got into Poi, wont tell you how tho
not yet anyway. lol. I got my first ever set of Poi yesterday afternoon. Took about 20 mins to get the knack of swinging the Poi properly and a few bumps on the back of the head....heh heh
Im a professional Family and childrens entertainer and also an Illusionist, travelling all over the UK with my own shows.
As to what I wanna be when I grow UP......I DONT EVER WANNA GROW UP
although I like learning new skills (still cant ride me unicycle tho and have had it for 8 years)
Geee Id better stop waffling on....Anyway great to be here and hope to learn a lot from you guys & Gurls and make some great friends along the way

had to stop my swinging today as one of my Poi flew of my hand and went straight into the fishpond.
Now i gotta wait for it to dry properly.......not fun spinning and spaying water all over the place
still its giving my wrists a rest ( save the comments on that one )

I placead an order for the Poi swinging DVD and some pink Poi from off the shop here cant wait till they arrive.
I seem to learn better when I watch the moves. I get all confused with written instructions......could be the dyslexia lending its unhelpful hand tho, lol.

The Poi im using at the moment are the ones available from a shop called Hawkins Bazaar. They come with about 1 metre of ribbon tails. They kept getting in the way and annoying me so i cut them off.
Strange to think that they hurt a lot more now their without their tails...

The Poi came out the drier rather fluffy....lol... I now have one fluffy Poi and hes a bit put out. He has a complex now about his Machoness..as the other Poi thinks hes a bit of a poof for back combing his pile.....
Oh well..... what can you do...you tell them that its acceptables these days and theres now equal rights an all)

Cant wait for my order to come thro from HOP. I was praciticing onstage after we had set the show, and the Producer asked if Id like to teach the dancers a few moves. He's thinking about putting a Poi section into the show :)
How great would that be.....Only wed have to get a teacher in, as Im still a newbie at Poi swinging.
