Just a quick question….
….where is the fire scene in Wellington?? Is there one? Just curious cos, you know, I thought that New Zealand..with its historical links to twirling and wellington being the capital and all that there would be a good scene here. I turned up at the fire “gathering” last night (Tuesday) at frank kitts park where I’d been told it was supposed to be and there was:
five people (with no fire toys)
no fuel, not even kero (- WTFF?? A fire meet with no fuel (I had some btw))
one lighter
no twirling…
seriously….is that the best that the capital of Wellington has to offer…please prove me wrong…

There are enough firespinners in Welli but meetings are very casual; at parties, in peoples gardens etc. Go to Cosmic Corner on Cuba Street and ask the guys there, they might now.

after a third failed jaunt to wellingtons "fire meet" i'm giving up HOWEVER, to add a bit of much needed positivty to this thread. if anyone wants to meet up for a twirl at some point then drop me a PM, always up for meeting new ppl and learning new tricks. I'll be here for most of this year (2007)

I moved here from palmy last nov and never got round to going to the weekly meets yet. I had heard they were great.
Sounds like Palmy has a better twirling scene.
ah well back to study I guess - will search for a fire meet when time permits again

hmm....well...to be fair, i received a couple of PMs about the fire thing. one saying that their is a fire scene but that its impromptu stuff at ppls house and parties (as i have no idea whose houses and which parties this has been of little use to me) and someone off here PMed me a while ago and said they twirled but i've been concentrating on my music so havent replied *me bad*
