Sad but true.. Had a talk with Tommi today and we're doing only two more shows together and then call it quits. Our ambitions and goals were too different and we have grown apart in other ways also. It was time to take big steps and really start working hardcore but Tommi wasn't up for it. So I'm going solo all the way..

I understand him but it is a damn shame. I think we had good potential to make it really big. And I think a good duo act has a better chance than a solo act in circus. But this decision clears a lot of things up and I can concentrate fully on my own career and see where it goes.

But I am still open for working with a partner. I'm not looking for another Tommi. Maybe another Antti. So if anyone knows someone ready for real work and has a circus attitude then let me know.

Thanks for everybody who enjoeyd The Amazing Rubber Heart Duo.

Point your toes.

Sorry to see you guys split, you did good work. But best wishes on your solo career or finding a new partner.

I know how hard it can be, turning over the new leaf and all, but it is so worth it once everything is all said and done.

I'm excited for you because of all the adventures you'll be having, moreso than sad for the break up of the duo.

Best of luck in all your future endeavors.

Oh no... that's really sad frown

You guys brought comedy and presence to a fire act successfully - in a way I haven't seen with most other big names...

Tommi!!!! Are you sure?!

hug2

Ok, well, thank you so much for the inspiration, and I hope you can do stuff in the future...

Best wishes for the solo thing Antti... I'm sure you will be stunning... and you never know what new adventures will come of this...

Take care

Thanks all..

I have always performed more solo than with RHD so it's not such a big change. I mean RHD the way it was has never been enough for me and I've always worked on my solo career at the same time. Hoping that there'd come a time for RHD to start working hard and so on.. But yeah.. this makes things more simple and I have more motivation than ever. But then again I'm wondering what can I do on stage that'll be better than 5 or 6 fire staff passing etc.. I liked our routine and had many good ideas on how to improve it. Working on a new solo routine will be sooo much work. But that's the way I like it.

We just had a rehearsal for a show we're doing with a circusy theatre group. And we went through our routine (the one on our promo vid) once for warm up and then in the run through of the show we did basically a flawless routine. And it felt really good and frustrating at the same time. You wouldn't prob believe how little we have practiced together in the last 2 years. And it's frustrating as hell to be able to do our routine which is technically quite hard all left handedly without breaking a sweat. And now that we've gotten to this point we stop?!?!? So much potential wasted. Argh.

So if anybody wanna see our second to last performance.. It's this one https://www.auditorium.com/eventi/4886723
in Rome on 9-10/12/06. If anybody knows any italian firepeople spread the word. Last one is on new years eve in Helsinki in a televised concert.

I'm sure you guys will carry on inspiring us as much as you did before...

I still regularly hit myself in the face attempting Muljis and Marjaleenas, so I'm sure the RHD legacy will live on in everyone that takes one of your videos, sticks one trick on loop and hits themself repeatedly with sooty sticks until they can emulate your stuff!

Hope to see you back in Britain ASAP smile

I think you guys at least need a soppy farewell slow motion video with soppy music.

Like this one when Mankind retired from the WWF.

Which was the only thing sadder than the Rubber Heart Duo retiring.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

Sad to hear about this, your shows were the best - in technical terms and entertainment value. i'll be really interested in what you come up with in your solo projects

but is noone else concerned about whats gonna happen to all the RHD tribute acts?!?
It'll be like Robbie Williams leaving Take That all over again! ubbcrying

Of course. Since the only reason why they are breaking up is because they realize they will never be as good as Him.

At least that's what I heard.

I've only known of you from shamelessly oogling your HOP gallery pics and or COL 2006 entry but it's always sad to see ANY performing group disband.

But it just means you are each free to persue your own destinies.

And if that means more solo shows in the UK then I'm all for it... biggrin

I stick with the sad. Solo acts are fine, but to me, the pleasure of seeing people in synch is far finer.
