Pretty cool, dude, but you'd be well advised to be careful with that.

I did a Shamanic journey for a 'friend' recently and I wish that I hadn't! Found out some rather disturbing things about her that I would have preferred not to know and expended tremendous amounts of energy in the process! Caused me a rather traumatic event of my own...

Just be choosy about what and whom you use your energy on!!!

Honour and blessings to you! smile wave

Well, Jo, what is it you feel sh!t about? is this emotional, physical, mental? lol, Sorry I'm making it out a bit like 20 questions. From what I can feel you're full of an uncertainty that you can't quite put your finger on, a dash of fear of the future and even though you're loved up, a little heartache too?

You're right Sunbird, I guess it is uncertainty. But I cry for no reason, I am knackered and want to hibernate.

I think we're all suffering from it Jo. I say it's down to nutrition, and more and more, boredom, society doesn't let us do all the things we want, instead it makes us want to sit around and be good little citizens. but that's just me. Do you feel like this in the summer?

Monserat, I don't know anyone who doesn't feel like this, we;re all due a damn sight more from our societies, there are big changes coming up, no matter what your religious beliefs they all come together around this time for something, either the end of the world or the beginning of a new age. Whatever it is I'm guessing you're dissatissfied with things as they are?

yeah, something like that! On a personal level and with the state of things in general I've made some small changes around myself which I'm happy about but it still feels like there are some biggies to come and I have no idea if it'll be me making them or if they'll be forced upon me. It's not so much the changes that worry me, just what's going to happen afterwards!

for you angry/depressed people, the best way to stop being as such is to stop thinking angry/depressed thoughts. Often we let our brains get away with winding us up when we know it's not really necessary. (ok that's oversimplifying but many things are simpler than they seem)

and poig - yes it is, you're just doing the wrong stuff.

unfortunately this society is too busy, too noisy, too bright for us to focus on anything but stress and so anger, depression and strife. W need to have time to ourselves which when we live in such close quarters to everyone else, always able to hear the couple next door arguing, the kids or building site outside making noise, the smell of exhaust fumes.

Meditation to your favourite music is excellent, if you're lucky enough to live close to some woods or hills, go for a walk every couple of days and take in the sights, sounds and smells of nature through the seasons. I find doind housework de-stresses me because I can look around after and see this lovely spacious clean area, then I'll do wom craftwork of go for a spin.

failing that, retail therapy wink lol

Jo, it does sound like seasonal affective disorder.

hug Some people have found light therapy very effective for that. You buy specific light boxes designed for the purpose, and spend a half hour each day under/with them. Full spectrum light bulbs in your house and work space can also help.

From a Shamanic perspective I think it is also important to realize that what you are experienceing may be an exaggeration of a natural cycle. Winter is a time when we turn inward, all living beings in a seasonal environment do. It is the dark side, where we have time to reflect, explore inner worlds, rest, prepare for spring and new growth.

Our society likes to ignore these natural cycles and often requires that we are always " On" --up, linear, aggressively active. It makes it difficult to honour the times when we may be naturally craving stillness, inward retreat, sleep, silence, thought, -- not true passivity, but that which our society often sees as such.It is frowned upon, seen as laziness. Fearing judgement, and trying to fit in, we often push against a natural impulse, and the resistance causes stress.

Feeling the extreme of it may just be a way of your spirit and body drawing your attention to the issue.

It might be an idea to try to indulge and explore the sensation if at all possible- not the feeling shitty, but he whys around it. Can you let yourself be, instead of resisting? Or is it too extreme or uncomfortable? If so, why? Maybe it is okay to be slow and quiet in the winter season? What happens if you express your saddness, and not judge it? Maybe create space for yourself in the winter to do these things, and not beat yourself up about it? Cozy up with a good book, gain a little weight, clean out the home, rest, and then burst out again in spring...

**Sorry to jump in your thread Sunbird! Just something I have been thinking a lot about lately, honouring and flowing with the natural cyles instead of creating resistance. Alignment, harmony... blah blah blah... smile
