Posted: I'm new to spinning. It all began one drunken night on a beach on Goa, then onto Thailand and the rest is history... I'm hooked. I'm feeling very lonely in my hobby though and I need a good teacher. These cold boring winter nights need to be set alight with some fire poi practice. So if you're interested in teaching me (my coordination's not reall THAT bad) or if you just want to meet up and chat about and practice poi, get in touch.

My state of mind is not yours to define!
There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Posted: Hey, I'm just back from a trip through Thailand and around Oz. I first got interested in twirling seeing the fire shows at the bars in Thailand, and bought my first staff in Perth. I practiced all the way around Oz and just picked up some Poi and Rope Poi (?) on the way back. So I can do staff fairly well but am a novice at poi. I doubt I could teach you anything with Poi, maybe staff. Still, I know what you mean about not being able to talk to anyone about it. There is feck all twirling in Ireland. It would be nice to at least know another twirler. I'm in Naas (Kildare) by the way, not far from Dublin. It would be nice to get some sort of casual group together that meets the odd time and shows each other stuff. Its so much easier to learn from a person than to try to crack something on your own.
Oh, I'm Mark by the way...
