Im 6ft3 and average build, and my other half is (edit: 5ft3 she wasnt last time we measured!) and again averaqge build. it seems completly normal that she feels like shes hugging a tree, and i dont notice theres anyone there atall!

We just arent bothered!

I just thought it was funny last night realising how many people notice!

We get so many questions from people, like-

how do you have s**?,

Do you trip over her?,

Can she give you a piggy back without your feet dragging on the ground?

can you wear her trousers when you run out of clean shorts?

i do find it funny, that to me, we seem the same height, but then i never notice other couples the same when walking down the street, everyone just looks normal!

(apart from the 6ft6 girl i met in italy eek scary!)

is it that noticable?

If it doesn't matter to you, what does it matter if it's noticable or not?

I have dated people much taller than my 5'4" before and the only thing I can add to this is, long slow kisses can end up with you getting neck ache from your head being tilted back so far for so long. Other than that I don't think there were any down sides to it. I got used to talking to their nipples rather than their face etc.... Gigs were good to because if I couldn't see I just sat on their shoulders.

stop right there dave!

and you miss rhymes!

double entendre's are great and all that but when an attempt is made to sully the good name of the hug, by adding those little minxes of the puntuation world that are the single quotes, it suddenly takes on a suggestive slant - hug suddenly turns into 'hug' and all we have left are euphamisms for acts of sordidity...

a hug is a hug is a hug (and a peg) is a hug smile

there is no such think as a 'hug' - hugs transcend all sexual connotations and are quite rightly the staple of our community.

there's tonnes of flavours of ice cream flavours to choose from - but 'hug' flavour isn't one of them tongue

have i said too much...? umm

wink

Cole, Freya and Maus were actually referring to their big beefy boyfriends at the time... so I think my use of the single quotes is warranted on this occasion (you know what those girls are like!)

it most certainly is your fault!

when a clear 86% of all your posts are pure, unabated innuendo, its pretty fair to assume that if something you wrote could possibly be read with a risque slant, that's probably how you meant it... wink

yeah, sorry sketch! hug

so, i'm quite tall (see memberstatus for details).

hugs work *really* well with people shorter than me i reckon (especially with miss bambam who is the perfect height for ubercuddles) cos i can get me silly gangly arms all the way round the huggee's back and do the 'arms feel like an all-covering blanket' thing, not to mention that my chest is often around the cheek-height of my cuddlee, so there's somewhere comfy to them to rest while the hug is being shared ubbrollsmile

i'd say though that hug quality is most definitely *not* proportionate to height.
case in point: jonnny ucof is definitely one of my top ten huggerers smile

...a peg) is a hug smile

Look, I really feel I should nip this in the bud soapbox

This is a peg:

Non-Https Image Link

This is a hug:

Non-Https Image Link

These are two entirely seperate phenomena.

Though one may be said to be transferring similar intentions to a hug, when performing the emerging urban activity of "pegging" ones peers, the nature of the peg itself (which may be turned to many activities other than a "pegging" hug equivalent) is in no way identifiable with that of a hug, in that one is a gesture or 'language game', whereas the other is a small mechanical device.

Therefore I submit that the statement "a peg is a hug" is DEMONSTRABLY FALSE

Perhaps an alternative to this phrase could be:

"a peg, if and only if employed in a certain manner, pertaining to an intention of hugging, can on some occasions be regarded as representing a hug, given that all the correct conditions are in place"

Otherwise this kind of wooly talk could easily lead to endangerment of public safety and possible clothes line entanglement.

"Switching between different kinds of chuu chuu sometimes gives this "urgh wtf?" effect because it's giving people the phi phenomenon."

i somewhat agree........

when a hug is being used as a tool to peg...... the hug technically becomes a peg (or attempt if your crap)

NEVER does a peg replace a hug, thats just insanity....

so i think the correct statement is

"sometimes a hug is a peg and never is a peg a hug"

especially not from a tall person umm
