Thing is, to my eternal shame, I am born of hippy parents, I lived the hippy lifestyle whilst at uni, and I still have good friends who enjoy Poi, wear tie-dye and sport chunky unwashed hairstyles.

In fact, nearly all of us breaks sorts have enjoyed the occasional festival, where you'd find Poi as commonly as you would vegetarian cuisine.

I appreciate we took the piss a bit, but nobody meant any harm, and some of you guys have been really nice, which made me feel really bad.

It even turns out a lot of you like the breakbeat scene. Let me be the first to invite any of you Poi sorts to Brighton for a rave and a spin. It's pride this weekend, not a time for hate.

Come on hippies, feel the love!

Ok im a little less confused about pele's warning post now. At first I was wondering what on earth it meant, I thought she was posting a post she made on another forum.

IS there a way to permamently mark these trolls that we find?

Points duly taken.

As to why....

Well that field marshal sheila fellow got it into his head that he doesn't like poi ages ago (personally I'm indifferent towards it, and yes I have had a go, my gf even owned some once), so that's why your site was targeted. And I guess we all went along for the ride because our site has been a little dull and serious lately with too many repeated threads titled 'breaks is dead'.

Anyway sorry for pretending to be (at least partly) someone I wasn't and falsely gaining your trust. ooooops

Hello?

I am well aware that I sound like a preachy hippy. Heck, I probably AM a preachy hippy. But that's what I love about this site, AND the internet community in general because I can say what I feel and choose but still remember that what I choose to say can still affect others.

And that is what we love about you.

Thanks for the apology. Believe it or not, it is appreciated.

As I said on your bb, to me this was sad since some of you contributed intelligently some great insights into some of our topics.

Neon_Shaolin is right...on all accounts.

I need to add to this.

We are not all hippies and kids, as you deemed us, here. There are thousands of people on this site from all over the world. We come here from all religions and walks of life and we come here peacefully. We have people with PhD's on here in many different fields. People in their 50's. Sure there are kids and hippies but there are also teachers, doctors, lawyers...

We came together with a common interest. We stay together out of something more and we bridge all of our differences.

In fact, off the top of my head I can think of probably 20 or more people who do not do any form of spinning or fire anymore but stay here due to friendship.

I'd love to say "Stay."

I'd love to say "Welcome."

Because we are that type of community.

But as a mod, I just can't find it in me to trust that far ahead.

Hell, I would bet that just from some of the threads you've posted in that you could ascertain that there is intelligent life here on HoP. wink

Again, thanks for the apology.

He he he if you looked to the right of the breaks stage at the Glade you would have seen some big "Nuskoolbreaks" banners because we were broadcasting the whole gig live on nsbradio.co.uk biggrin

Hope you had as good a time there as I did!

Are these usually countered with calls of 'breaks will never die'? wink

God damn musical genre'ists. When will people learn that nothing ever dies in music.

Even hardcore.

I guess we all just have to accept that frown

Movements do die. Mass popularity of genres die. But the music will always live on. I would never say what I listen to is 'alive and kicking and ruling the airwaves' because it doesn't. As long as you keep it alive in you (and keep a copy on CD, tape, vinyl, MP3) it'll never die.

Now will someone smack me over the head with a cast-iron griddle before I turn into Ghandi or Martin Luther King...

If I'd have known I'd have set the computer up to record it. Might have been able to hear something that way rolleyes

Maybe you guys know the answer then. How the hell did they manage to make such a mess of the sound in the breaksday tent? I've done loads of nights in loads of places and I've never seen so many problems!

They were so lucky that Xander and Rennie Pilgrem blew everyone away after the Hybrid incident.

first off i hope you guys and gals havent been too offended with our raid today. i do sincerley mean that. it was never my intention to ruin a business and i would hope that a days larking about on a board would not do this. running a business in the breaks world i can understand how precious this would be for you. but i take full responsibilties for todays actions and any further action from yourselves should really be pointed towards myself as i have been the man behind the raid. its was as you can see on the post nsb, my idea. feel free to chuck abuse at me on chazzapoi@yahoo.co.uk if you would like to speak to me in person (mods/owners) from there i will forward my number for further contact weavesmiley
