There is a kids' TV series I remember watching when I was a little one, but I have not been able to remember the name for a few years!

I'm 20, and I would have been watching it when I was under 10, if that helps people with the age of it.

It's British, and it was something to do with the Last Unicorn. There was a boy named Roland and him and his friends could travel between reality and a fantasy world (which often intertwined) and they had to save the unicorn or something like that.

Any help on the name or more infor on the story, please?

i would have changed ***** to phallus, and claire to petey Petey

Nope. I am pretty sure there aren't any unicorns in that. And there isn't a kid called Roland either.

um... could it have been .."The Last Unicorn" (although I think thats a film)

sounds a bit like "Dungeons and dragons" there was a unicorn, pretty sure one of the people was called roland but they couldn't travel between worlds. they were trying to get home FROM a fantasy world.

actually scrub that... I watched that 20 years ago ubblol

nope, there wasn't a main character in Dungeons and Dragons called Roland.

They were Hank, Diana, Sheila, Eric, Presto, and Bobby, with the unicorn ingeniously named "Uni".

I have the DVD's. And yes....I know I'm a geek. ubblol

I don't remember there being a Roland in Dungeons and Dragons! There was Hank the Ranger, Eric the cavalier, Presto the Magician (unless his real name was Roland), Bobby the Barbarian, Sheila the Thief and Diana the Acrobat. Along with Uni the little unicorn, Dugeonmaster and Vengor. Tiamat the multi headed dragon turned up a few times as well.

redface Shouldn't know all that but it was one of my favourites as a kid!! biggrin

Another slight tangent, anyone else remember Moschops? about the little dinosaur that looked after a flower? I seem to be the only person I know who remembers it

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (Complete with first exposure to the X-Men in cameo roles)
Ulysses (ubblol at Cole for 'O' Brother Where Art Thou')
Mysterious Cities of Gold
The Real Ghostbusters

(And in later years 'X-Men')

I used to love Dungeons and Dragons when it got all emotional and epic. Top 3 episodes -

- Where they meet a girl from their homeworld who can see the future. Go through a maze, get trapped and at one point are overtaken by the disturbed part of their psyches and start fighting each other. They find a portal home but face Venger again who turns into an enormously dragon-like creature. they send the girl home but destroy the portal and the maze to destroy Venger.

- They have to protect a young man called Ethan who is prophecised as being the 'Child of the Stargazer' who will vanguish the evil queen. Ethan is injured in the final battle but Diana, being the daughter of an astronomer is also a 'Child of the Stargazer' and becomes a God for a few moments, destroying the evil queen before switching places with Ethan who heads to the stars. I've had a thing for stories about characters who become Gods and the consequences of such ever since...

- The one where Uni is injured and the only way to cure her is to find 'The Dragon's Graveyard'. When they find it they face Tiamat, trap Venger in there finding that their weapons are amplified there and go Krakatoa on his ass. Episodes of pent up anger finally exploding against old One-horn.

Those who say Kids TV is crap these days need to watch 'Justice League' featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, The Flash, Green Lantern, and J'han. Probably the most adult, well written sophisticated kids cartoon I've ever seen. With allusions to breast size, phone sex and the only cartoon with a christmas special featuring a main character going to another planet purely to start a bar fight...for fun... (Go Hawkgirl!)

MYSTERIOUS cities of Gold, that's what it was! always get that wrong.

Child of the Stargazer and The Dragon's Graveyard are 2 of my favourites as well. Doesn't Dungeonmaster call Vengor 'my son' when he rescues him from the gang?? My other favourite is the one where all the kids are being kept as slaves to stop a giant clock from chiming but can't remember what that one was called off the top of my head.

Justice League sounds pretty cool!

I think someone gave me a VHS of that once, was that the one with the Iceman and that woman who could fly and control fire?

There was a really cool spiderman called Spiderman Unlimited in 1999 but i got canceld because people thought it was confusing, I used to watch it it so wasnt.

Oh wait there was a Batman cartoon which is really recent. I cant for the life of me discribe it because I only saw it a few times but there was a pretty big focus on a villainess called Ink. That was cool too

Yup Spider-Man, Iceman and Firestar

Was it 'Batman Beyond'/'Batman of the Future'? Was 'Ink ' a villain who was like a black shape-shifting ooze?

Right, the closest thing I've found so far is an animated film from 1982 called the Last Unicorn which involved a unicorn figuring out that she was the last of her kind from a butterfly and that the Red Bull has herded all the other unicorns off somewhere. Sound familiar??
