There is a new family living next door to me and every attempt i have made to get on with them has been thrown in my face. About once a month we get a bon fire going and get drinks in my boyfriend and some of my mates dj so they have a go on the decks wile my friends and i spin fire and film it we tell the people next door and i gave them my phone number and told them if the noise bothers them to phone me and we will turn it down no fuss but they still come round fing n blinding being really rude about it and starting on me about it when we are happy to turn it down when asked. Am i in the wrong or do they need to get a life?

I've had a barbecue with some spinners last week, and we put notes through the neighbours' dors along with flyers for the festival we're in, saying they were invited to come along to join the barbecue if they wanted, and to give them a chance to put their laundry in so it won't get full of smoke.
At the designated starting time, one of the neighbours started mowing the lawn

good idea they live on the corner eggs are a pain to get off
i did think about asking them to come over and relax and chill out and fined out what we are about as may be if they had a social life they might not be so horrid
and as i said to them last week we are going to be loud some times with djs spinners and demos being made here at least we are willing to turn it down when the law states that we can be as loud as we like till 11pm.

oh and yes we do have a barbie now summer is on its way
and we have just gotten a new fire pit from argos great idea if you like having bon fires and dont want to mess your garden up.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm personally i think your well within your rights sho
1. you only have a gathering once a month
2. you have forwarned your neighbours, you are more than willing to turn down the sound should any complaints arise.
you've given them your contact details and enough notice. i can't see why, unless they are retarded they feel the need to come round and use profanitys and think it will resolve the issue

I've had a similar problem but with OAPs - we have a lot of bonfires (dug & bricked up a firepit for the purpose) and my neighbour would sneak up the garden and spy on us.
Which was a bit weird, if he'd had a problem he could have just said.
Every time I noticed him I'd just look right at him & say hi, embarrased him more than anything else. They keep givin me evils in the street aswell, so I always make a point of saying hello.
Probably not a good idea to antagonise them. Even though you warned them, having DJ decks going is f*cking loud, and very irritating to neighbours (although that doesn't excuse the manner in which they complained). Plus, being sickeningly nice is so much more fun
