Apparently, if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, it's 18 Jan. Someone apparently did some analysis of psychiatrist visits and suicides and such and decided that that's the trough day.
So...12 days to go, everyone. And then it's all uphill.
P.S. if anyone can find any reference to back up the above claim, I'd love them eternally...

Cant say i have any reference, or that i live in the northern hemisphere, but the past few days have been getting progressivly worse. troubles with the girl....
So i guess thats some kind of first hand reference...:(

Well apparently the point is that it's a seasonal variation in mood. Sufferers of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) can tell you all about it.
But most people tend to put on a bit of weight come winter and report decreased mood. It's just that SAD sufferers get hit HARD...
I don't think I have SAD, but I *hate* winter.

Well it's the 24th according to this source.
I do blame it on snow: before christmas it's charming, but after it just becomes annoying mud really.

hmmmm, i have no evidence to back it up....
just that lots of bad things have happened in the past couple of days, and now i've returned to uni they prob gonna get worse as its the people here i gotta confront... ah well.... joy to the depressing days... and i thought next friday was gonna be bad....

Just a thought...
Around the 18th (or 24th) I will get my Visa bill. After spending lots on Christmas as well as paying for school and books, well, I'm sure it will be a very depressing day when it arrives.
I smile because I have no idea what is going on...

i suffer from s.a.d. and to tell you the truth this whole month is a bit of a downer, not just for me but most people.
Think about it, it's the longest financial month of the year seeing as monthly paid people got paid before xmass, they are now mostley skint until the end of the month, the weather also plays a big part.
( dose that make sence or am i rambling??)

Um... If you search Yahoo you find 12,800 websites stating it's the 24th. And 0 stating it's the 18th. Which is good because I generally try to avoid your eternal love or at least any stickyness associated with it.
And wouldn't it 'all' be 'downhill' after that?
If it was "looking up" or "going up" or "upwards" I'd think that it was getting better... but the term 'uphill' is usually has a negative connotation.

I dunno...downhill is easy going, but if we're going up, then aren't we going uphill?

I'm with NYC, its normally uphill is bad, like and uphill struggle, and down hill is good, cos its easy going.... but if things are on the up, they are GOOD and if things are going down, its bad....

This month is nonsence. Maybe because I've got loads of debts to pay off
Its also been raining alot. I dont do well with depressing weather, wish the sun would come out again...

i think it was actually the 23rd.... i was very tired and grouchy that day... and i had a interview for a job i don't really want....
but, y'see, i thought that when they did this, the equation somehow factored in day of the week, because last year 24th was a monday, and this year 23rd was monday... that's got to make it move a bit... post weekend blues and all that.
