...how did you pick your username?

I've had mine on various sites since I was 16.
It started simply because someone already had Si so instead I had S'eye but the apostrophie soon got removed. I used to use in on the messagebord for a club that I ended up playing at so when I got onto my first flyer they used 'Seye' so people didnt get confused.

I cant escape it these days! Even my parents write Seye on my birthday card. It is handy though - you can sign up pretty much anywhere with Seye as a login name - who else is going to have taken it!

I now know where strugz and 2bags got theirs from but what about everyone else?

My original HoP name was "Royal" which was my nickname since I was about 13. At that time, I played lazer tag and needed an alias so I chose "Royal Assassin" after the Magic: The Gathering playing card. From there, my friends just shortened it to Royal and it stuck till I was about 20.

ICoN was the name I used when playing Quake III Arena. I wanted to change my name from Royal because no one really called me that anymore. I was in a rather non-creative mood that day so I just switched it to ICoN out of haste.

ICoN - any reason for the small 'o'?

My friend Robyn christened me Fox in Docs when i was in year 12, cuz i'm hot (and modest too :-P) and I wear Doc Martens all the time and we're heavily into Dr. Suse.

I started using munkypunks for hobby and/or creative type endeavors because my dad called me that when I was a kid, in hopes of releasing the inner child or whatever... Some who know me call it childish, but I figure that's the whole idea....

The small 'o' is a Quake thing too. My name was ICoN. Just artistic reasons I guess since your name was the only thing that was truly customizable in the game.

And if you really wanna get deep into such a shallow topic...

Quake is a very competitious shooter game. It was comon practice for the winner of the games to brag and rub it in. The name ICoN suggests that I thought I was better than everyone. The scores would be posted in a list at the end of the game, the best player would obviously be at the top of that list. When I would win (which was quite often) I had a tagline that went "ICoN on top - Look up to me!" I thought it was rather clever actually.
