I am newbie and probably one of the oldest members in age (54 yrs).
Bruised and not very coordinated with my fuzzy yellow poi. But this is fun and I'm trying.
My cats (6) and pugs (3) want to play too when I bring out the poi but I have to practice without them around to protect them - just wish I could protect myself. Anyone try doing poi with body armor on???
Just wonder how many other 50+ folks are interested in poi.
And no, I am not into bugs in general, just two specific ones, a black exotic cat named Bug and my black VW Bug. peace

Welcome to HoP

You certainly aren't the oldest member of HoP. I'm not sure who is but I know of members older than you. Age has nothing to do with it anyway biggrin

Dunc, on HoP, is a huge VW fan. He runs a VW festival in August. I hope to actually one day pass my Driving test and get a VW camper van....... but that is dependant on me getting the licence and anyone who has seen me try to drive will tell you that could be a long way off ubblol

Hey there, welcome to the crazy world of HoP.

I'm not sure, but I think at 63 my mum, RosieMary is the oldest on HoP, but I'm prepared to be corrected if there's anyone who can top that.

As Lady Skully said, there is no age barrier to enjoying life, and therefore no age barrier to swinging things around your head.

eek Mags! You keep telling lies like that and your mum is going to come and whip that little hind end of yours! wink

How did I get started? My daughter known here as Moatis introduced me to this site and then when I was visiting her we played a bit with her poi. I got hooked and bruised. After along day in front of a computer (I'm in software support), coming home and spinning really helps release the tension.

Cool, when i pass ym test im gonna go looking for a VW Bug (allthough I thought they where called Beatles), I think the modern ones are so disgusting and tacky looking you cannot beat the classic design. Welcome to HoP anyway *waves*
