Hi!

I'm a new man here, but i'm really fan of Poi.
And in my native it's really hard to find informations about the Poi...

What do you think about the one-hand manipulations with the Poi?
Not the Butterfly, but others?

Thanks,
Bekar.

augmented 5-beat, small (500 Kb) clip of a smooth 5-beat move that involves going in and out of 2 poi in one hand.

albatross, a very small clip (290 Kb) of a complex move based on reverse butterfly, with simultaeneous release of both poi, which are then caught in a forward butterfly, which is then reversed using one beat of a 2 poi in one hand butterfly, and then repeated from the start.

sure smile

If you're going from normal weave place the following poi into the back of the other hand.

ie...if you're weaving and go from your left to right hand side the left poi would be leading, as it crosses to the right side place the right poi into the left hand and grip it with your pinky. If you practice the 2bt weave till it's nice and smooth you should find the transition from two to one handed quite easy smile You'll soon find lots of places to put them into one hand and soon you'll be doing them all over the place weavesmiley

make sure that you force the poi through the moves by rotating your wrist more than usually. try with meteors and you'll probably understand what i mean.
its not hard to make a meteor out of 2 poi and a short string. just tieing the poi together could lead into a too short meteor, wich is harder.
