Are there any other pyro types living in sleepy 'ol Cambridge these days?
Whats there to do in terms of fire spinning? Anyone want to meet up sometime and find out?

Hey Jelena, welcome to Cambridge! On Sunday, Cambridge Community Circus runs from 5-8pm - tis the best place to meet all of us - except, maybe, for when we all go to the pub afterwards
visit www.camcircus.org for directions, and I hope we see you there next week. All us poi and staff spinners are there, along with nearly every type of object-manipulation under the sun.There are random fire-nights now and then - I want one soon actually. Anyone up for this?

I can't seem to find any paraffin in the local Homebase or Focus DIY stores. Useless, the lot of them

random fire night - yes please, only not on a tuesday, wednesday or thursday!
there's also a DIY place near the train station:
heading away from the train station, first right, and it's on the right hand side
It's a focus or somesuch and you can get paraffin there too.
also, I'll be at camcircus from 5-8pm on sunday as I'm opening up

The Community Circus sounds fun, I'll definitely stop by and meet you guys soon!
Oh, and it's a fire whip in the picture. Very theatrical, but kinda terrifying to use, I have this love/hate relationship with it

I'm Jelena (pronounced Ye-lei-na), and I've just moved here from Edinburgh to do a postgrad. I was involved with Beltane Festival for the last couple of years, which got me hooked to fire performing for life 
I mainly spin poi
, but I'm getting quite into hooping too. Oh, and if I'm not spinning fire, I take pictures of it instead

Hi Everyone, Just to let you know that on the 16th (week on saturday) Karen and I are going to have a joint birthday bash (cos we are twins!).

Hello!! Sorry to hijack your thread.... I live in cambridge, just got back from dragon festival where i saw some of the most amazing poi, and got absolutely hooked.. was wondering if anyone could give any tips/help on getting started? or even if there was anyone who could be bothered to give me a couple of lessons??!!

come to camcircus on a sunday (I'm usually there from about 6pm)
if you're interested in going to some other meets outside of that PM me your mobile number and I'll keep you up to date/ give you a call if I'm heading down to the park..

danni As Guy (lazyangel) says you can usually find us on Sundays at camcircus from about 6, I'll be there tomorrow if you want to come along. Might be a little quite though since a lot of folk will be on their way back from the british juggling convention.
