i got this in an email today and thought it to be completely inhumane and sickening. twisted kitten

Go here This site was shut down last year, but has apparently returned. There are many people that are opposed to the idea and a petition is circulating to get the site shut down again.

For the umptybillionth time, the Bonsai Kitten site is a hoax put together by a college class who wanted to see just how far the madness would be circulated. It's been around for years, popping up on seemingly every forum on the planet about once every six months.

I seem to remember about 3 other threads about Bonsai Kitten? I think the idea stinks but the duration and the effect of the hoax I could guess was so much more than the creators expected.

Indeed, it's amazing how many people can't seem to engage any kind of critical thinking before getting outraged. It doesn't really surprise me that so many people have their opinions shaped by the tabloid press when even utterly nonsensical things like the Bonsai Kitten site have people believing them...
