I use dictionaries a lot. I'm dyslexic and cannot spell to save my life (as you may well have noticed by now). What I want to know is, why is it, no matter what size the dictionary is printed or what edition of it you have you will find that the majority of the rudest words in the thing will fall at the top of the page? Do they work this out very carefully before they send it to print?
I put it to you that someone somewhere has the job of making sure that all the rudest words in the english language fall at the top of the page and usually the right hand page. Is it the same in other languages?

I think it's just because you tend not to notice the hundreds of words that are NOT the first or last on the page :P

I just browsed my Arabic, Spanish and hieroglyphs dictionaries and the dirty words must be better hidden in those becaues they weren't at the top of the page. Of course (pick your language)-english dictionaries are probably going to have less dirty words than the dictionary just in that language/
