well folkies, in the good old tradition of "my job/life is boring, I need something to do with my time" internet solutions,
I present to you "The hardest riddle available on the internet".

it is called not pron, and basically it's a combination of puzzles, riddles and a bit of computer knowledge:
it helps if you know some basics like 'URL' and 'source code'.
it has something like 90 levels, and the objective is to solve the riddle to get to the next level.
the official forum has a little too many spoilers on it for me, so I thought I'd start a thread here too.
on the start of my 3rd day, I'm in level 17 (16 was really hard) and I really don't consider myself a geek/nerd,
but I have made websites before, so that helped a lot.
their stats as of today are:
1508411 visitors have tried to solve the riddle since August 2004.
So far 173 people from 33 countries have completed it.
30 of them are women. The average age is 22 years.
have fun, appearently it might take weeks to finish, don't know if I will go that far.
(click the logo to go to their website, but if you couldn't even figure that one out, maybe you shouldn't play the game

So I entered the door, then clicked on the first door and it said "the door is locked, trick it or find another way to level 3." I tried clicking on virtually every other pixel in the picture and there are no other clickable fields.
Either I'm missing something or this is the hardest puzzle ever by being downright impossible.

I feel so thick, took me about 5 minutes to get past level 2...this is hard!
edit - How do you get past level 3? Geeze... nothign to click on or do... and the writing only flashes up for a split second...

and that's only level 2!!!!!!!ok, a little hint: you should get a pop up if you try to open the second door (the door handle). read it carefully and look for more clues.
there are clues hidden on the pictures, in the pages, on the title of the page, in the URL or in the scource code. not all at the same time though.

what is a source code?
when you right-click in a webpage, you can "view source". this is the HTML script that makes up the page.
the clues are usually written within because then it won't show up on the page itself, just in the source. sometimes you have to look for other irregularities though, as I said before: if you don't know this to start with (a little knowledge of html) then this could be an impossible riddle to solve.

AAAAARGH!!!!! I think I cracked 18 some time ago, but the website won't load, so it gives me error messages.
don't know if I'm right or wrong cos i can't test it....
yeah, level 7 was hard, I needed more clues because I really couldn't see what the object on the picture was. after that it got a bit easier.

yeah, especially because after saying he got there, he's asking what a source code is.... hmmmm. but getting to level 6 with only the use of google should be do-able and is not considered cheating

YEAH RIGHT!!!!! no f**king way you got to 59 in just a couple of hours...using google to find spoilers and passwords is called cheating!!!
then you're just not playing anymore...
I meant: use google to find out more about ascii, big bad voodoo daddy, morse, that kind of stuff.
playing the game for the game, not to win the price.

The message board has hints for some of the tougher ones. They don't give you the answers but they point you in the right direction. Some of them are nearly impossible without hints.

I would have thought that answer was obvious, but if you can't figure out why then I guess your probably not ready for level 6 either

hints are cheating, if you don't think they are then you're playing a different game to those who figure stuff out themselves
I'm giving up at level 8, it's just far too annoying that you need google to play the game, yet there's so many spoilers which show up in the search results (even without having to click the link). I can see the game would have been a good idea to start with, but it's totally spoilt now

don't give up!!!!so far (and I'm still on level 21) I've only had to google on 4, 5, 6 & 7.
after that the site it self and maybe some small programm to convert certain files into other files, are the only things needed. oh yeah, and a lot of time and hair pulling and common sense.

But hey, now my entire office is working on this instead of the paper. We're on level 8 so far.
One guy has got all the cheats though. No fun at all

I wouldn't recommend using google for hints. You will only need it in a few key areas for general info. If you get completely stuck, hit up the pron message board for hints. You should only need a few pointers to get you back on track. Be warned, not all of pron is workplace safe
Finally cracked 81... on to level 0 and the negatives.
