juggle weavesmiley Manchester Spinner’s Meet up and stuff weavesmiley juggle

Hi all If you are looking for people to spin poi with in the North west this is the place to be.

For any one new to this sight DON’T READ THE WHOLE THREAD it has been going a long time and contains lots of old information and chat about previous meet ups and organisation stuff just go to the last few posts to find out the most up-to-date information on current events.

First a bit of info the Manchester spinners lot is no professional spinning troop or organised events it is just a group of people who get together to enjoy themselves. The first meet up was organised way beck in September 04 https://delizium.fotopic.net/c291964.html

The crowd has changed a bit from back then but we have kept a few old timers we welcome all along to come and join us for a spin whether you be experienced or a complete beginner we are willing to teach and learn from you.

Their is no set time for the meet ups they are usually organised around when people can make it and how long they can stay.

I will try to update this first post as often as I can with the most up-to-date info on meet ups and club nights that allow spinning but if I'm being a bit lax just find the last few posts foe up-to-date info (like I said before weren’t you paying attention)

To date the standard meets have gone as meet up in Piccadilly gardens at 4pm (nice central point where every one can get to) Then move on down to the Gas Works/CastleField or Plat fields Park depending on the wether till everyone gets to cold/tired/burned then on to the pub

( anybody who doesn’t know where this is it can be arranged for someone to come meet you at the train station or wherever you are coming from .) smile

{ ubblove We are a nice bunch like that ubblove}

Accommodation for a night can usually be arranged but you need to sort this well in advance no just turning up expecting somewhere to sleep eek

(more to be added and all to be spell checked soon)

pm me any info you would like to add

before i met those lot i thought they'd be a bunch of dreadlocked hippies that smoked, set things on fire ,and drank a lot of tea but then when i met them....oh wait (PyroWill)

I'd honestly prefer platt fields because of the variation in ground surface, its a damn sight more challenging than the few steps the gasworks has to offer

And theres no broken glass in the park, im allways quit surprised people bring unicycles to the gassworks when they could burst the tyre.

Hey guys,
Can't make this next meet, I'm still working all the time at the moment, night shifts too, I need money for a holiday. I've just got to keep in touch with people on here, to get my ass to some other meets.

Hope to see you all soon biggrin

I wanna see that video when it's finished too

I'm not even sure where you're going on Sunday anyway (I think the majority seem to say Plat fields though confused)

So, is it Platts field or Gasworks?

I would say gas works due to there being a large multi-cutural fair on in platt fields both today and tomorrow. Which means there is a higher than average number of annoying people and police around the park than normal.

Yeah but plattfields is huge everyone will be nicley spread out. Right, since there seems to be some confusion on this (and perhaps a little wishfull thinking im suspecting)

Shall we meet up in piccadily gardens, then once where there in a nice biiig group we can make a choice? That way we dont get any fractured hoppers turning up in two different places.

Picc gardens 2 o'clock till 3?

i dont think thats a good idea and it just confuses people.

IMHO
a) its far to walk from picadilly to wherever we go - piccadilly attracts idiots EVERY time we go and then we all have to try and end up in the same place. this gets complicated if some turn up at gas works and others at platt feilds
b) if we meet at gasworks and want to go platt fields then its easy enough without losing people and its near enough to go platt feilds as well as meet newbies at a near and well know place like oxford station.
c) having multiple places to go is just going to mess everyone around - we should get a majority consensus and soon
d) if there is a big thing on at platt feilds then i for one dont want the hassle of idiots, granted its nice in the summer and i do like it there but the meet can easy be ruined by scallys, pratts and police.

if a LARGE concensus says platt feilds, then ill go with the flow, but im getting the impression that loads of different places are being thrown in and anyone whos trying to work out where we are supposed to be meeting will get confused.

damn this post sounds nasty redface and i apolagise for that, but there needs to be a decission made.

everyones not going to be pleased, i just want another happy hop meet weavesmiley

So there's a meet then? Did anyone think of prodding Tobi into changing the first post so that people knew it was on?

Or texting their favourite fraggle?

Erm no.

No they didn't. Well that's just fine.

Yes you were conspicuous by your absence Seye.

It was a bloody good meet as well. Slow turnout at first but picked up considerably... The Leeds meet with Meg Strugz and Chrono was really good as well...

oooh cinnamen jo always fun lol

oh btw i know there is a couple of pl posting on the gay pride forum but i was wondering who would be available for it.... coz im thinking about getting in touch with a few ppl i know tht sort out the parade and maybe getting us in it what does everyone think?

although i dnt think fire spinning in the parade may go down well i know tht if we all used tail poi and fancy staff and a couple of unicyclists with costumes on i think we can do it

also there is a cadlelit vigil tht is always held on the last day of pride and i think if we can get a few people doing a bit of a fire show for those remembering lost ones i think it can help keep the flame in people hearts burning strong

like i said if you are up for either or both then let me know and i can get it sorted, i need to know numbers though

thanks for burning with me

Right, Falmouth is around 5-6 weeks away now and I know a few people were discussing the possibility of us getting a Love Bus sorted same as they did for BJC.
Just wondering if there is any interest in doing this for Falmouth and who (if anyone) has a PCV licence to drive a minibus with 12-16 seats in it?
Lets see if we can actually sort something out for this one as it may well be the last biggrin

I am up for the Love Bus. I drove to Falmouth last time and that was a terrible ordeal. Especially when EVERYONE was smoking except for me. I also have a couple of friends who are thinking of going as well. However, if the number goes over 17 then I will fall back on driving myself.
