Well, we tried (and admittedly failed) to set a new world record at Falmouth 2 of the worlds highest diabolo throw...

So I thought we could try something this time round as well...
Preferably not diabolo height, and probably not an official world record (which the diabolo throw would've been had we not done so late in the day, what with everyone being quite "tired"...)

Any suggestions?

Mine are:
Most number of spinners in a co-ordinated routine
Most number of poi spun at one time by one person (hey, 2bags is coming...)
Most number of naked fire spinners wink
Biggest simaltaneous staff burn off (with the wind behind us!)
Most number of people playing "Jump the fire rope dart"
Largest "jazz cigarette" shared by the most people biggrin

Pick one you like or come up with your own - everyone likes a challenge biggrin
Plus it'll be filmed for posterity, although not by me or it'll never get made into a video (e.g. HoP/Pip video)

Burner of Toast
Spinner of poi
Slacker of enormous magnitude

Good ideas Durbs - although im not so sure nakedness is the best thing for march weather rolleyes ......... saying that, Frodos coming ubblol

The staff burnoff would be fun & would take less organising / concentration wink

What about most fire kit carried by one person from the beach to the place of sleep - excluding myself of course ubbangel

Off the staff burnoff sounds like fun smile

A kiss blown is a kiss wasted, the only kind of kiss is a kiss tasted.

I'm a woman. We don't say what we want, but we reserve the right to be pissed off if we don't get it. That's what makes us so fascinating and not just a LITTLE bit scary.

most numer of spinners in a coordinated routine means we will need well over 600 to beat the coreographed routine just before the burn at burningman last year. don't think falmouth can pull that off.

I haven't seen more than about 10 naked spinners at once - but I know nothing of the rest of the world's experience with such things.

your last one is going to have some serious contention from certain jamaican groups as well you know...

As they spin? It may be a tad difficult to get vanize to stay still for more than a second while he's spinning. His legs move just as much as his arms and hands.

Without meaning to be the voice of Doom here or anything (the official voice of doom is currently busy elsewhere) I believe that in order for it to count as a world record you have to have independant (and this is the kicker) trustworthy judges/witnesses to verify that it occurred etc.

Otherwise you'll just be a lot of sooty spinners on a beach doing daft things....

Ah...
I'm not going to continue with that line of thought.

Tried it once, after a few drinks. And managed to simultaneously do a seemingly irreversable big toe wrap, a quarter twist and a rarely seen "right foot, left hip and full face" landing! I stuck it though and then proceeded to wimper like a little girl biggrin

Once again an ode to the dangers of liquor, fire and momentary rectal-kranial inversion biggrin

Cool ideas Durbs. Me thinks fairly soon we need to start working out a timetable for the weekend, and slot the workshops, record attempts, general lazing about into some kind of holiday camp-like order.

How about a non-spinning talent contest. Or a while-spinning talent contest. biggrin

And no Frodo, taking your clothes off is not a talent, its a lifestyle choice. ubblol
