Ok this is an official update of my mouldy old intro. every time that i accidentally bring up the first page of this instead of the recent one, i get a case of "geez i'm a tool writing such a dodgy intro". so i thought i'd put a fresh intro up for me to feel embarrased about biggrin

Here's some information about me...

i live in melbourne, where things are often rainy. raininess makes me sad.

i go to the ever wonderful melbourne sunday spinning, where all the lovely melbourne kids go. If you live anywhere near melbourne and you're checking out this intro to suss out what type of people go on sundays, i highly recommend you come along.

i'm a student nurse, so i get terribly excited about health. it also means that i will intermittently whinge about going on clinicals. i secretly love being on clinicals though.

i'm also a disability support worker, which i've done for ages. i love it heaps, but like any job, it has it's moments.

i live with my boyfriend, who i tend to complain about a lot also, but i love him to bits, even when he gives me the sh!ts.

someone once asked me to sum myself up in 5 words, and i came up with independent, caring, firey, needy and...oh bugger i can't remember the last. i'm sure it was good though biggrin

well, i can't think of anything else to put there, so i'll leave it till i start cringing whenever i see this intro tongue

and just so that the initial comments here are in context, here's what my intro originaly said....

"hey, I registered with HoP a few days ago in a procrastination attempt (1exam to go), and this whole talking-to-people-on-the-other-side-of-the-world thing kinda freaks me out. Anyway, I been reading peoples messages, which seems a bit voyueristic, since I haven't really introduced myself. I live in victoria, and I'm studying nursing, play with poi, but haven't 4 ages. please reply with something encouraging, otherwise I'll get scared and feel unwelcome. frownThen I'll be stuck with playing solitaire."

oh a guest! please help yourself to anything you want and get uproariously drunk. biggrin

i know i don't have a photo gallery, cos i don't have a digital camera (or a new fangled photo taking phone and such like). But just to satisfy everyone's burning curiousity..... i am a girl who looks like she's soon to be turning 23 (you know, with that, "my birthday's coming up" look on my face), usually red short hair, 170 cm tall, and trying to have a better posture (cos my chiropractor says my current posture sucks arse). So next time you walk past a girl standing rather awkwardly, um, it's almost definitely not me. (you know, statistically speaking)

Yay for Vanize! Just what a threadwarming party needs...a french maid! make sure you get all that tomato sauce out, and maybe wiggle your bum a bit more.clap

Yes Skully, rum truffles are always welcome here. about the library scanning thing, a good idea, i didn't think of that. *searches round for some photos to get me into the ever contoversial hottie thread* Although my local library don't like me too much after i failed to return a pile of books after *cough*severalmonths*cough*. hmm, all that dust Vanize is stirring up is making me allergic.

thankyou spacey, welcome to you too hug

Happy thread warming party Myco, are you aware your birthday falls on the glorious time when many a British firespinner will be spinning in sunny Falmouth, how about crossing the big blue and give us another thing to celebrate?

thanks for the pizza's hav, they're certainly popular biggrin (as is the french maid, he he). but surely after all this pizza making you're running out of dough? (geddit? geddit? dough, like money. um. did i mention i was also the queen of bad jokes?)

so falmouth's on at the same time as my birthday eh? maybe i'll astrally project myself there for a little while so that you can all give me birthday punches. sounds like it'd be unreal and i am extremely jealous that i won't bhe in the same continent as it, but i'm sure i'll hear all about it. that way i can vicariously experience it all.

sparkey: i'd love some of the cake from your thread, it was so delicious. and about the computer reading your posts, it's just a placebo effect from all the suggestion that the pizza is hallucinagenic. Pfft, havokist's just bluffing about that, the blue elephants that swam out of my eyelids told me all about it, you see. ubblol

ha ha ha! thanks guys. puss puss looks suspiciously like my real life kitty, only a little less conscious.

this little party sure is shaping up nicely. I've just brewed a big pot of chai, for the non coffee types (surely there are non coffee types out there?).

and sparkey, the extra choccie cake came from the cake materialisation space station (duh!), it's east of where the elephants originate from, and very handy for situations such as this.

now where's that french maid gone?

Why do you need a digital camera? I don't have a digital camera either. All you need is a regular camera and the ability to find a scanner. They're often in the place you least expect to find them.

I found mine plugged into my computer....

don't know why cantus, but i just assumed that people were using digital cameras. i haven't really had a lot of experience using scanners, so it didn;t really occur to me. but yeah, i got one at my work that i use all the time as a printer, fancy that. wink

havokist: want me to materialise more cake? space station cake is good.
valura: how's the bub kicking?

tales from the life of me... I've just had my sis staying with me for a few days, and as much as i love her, she's exhaused me. She usually lives with my mum, who's her full time carer, cos she has cerebral palsy, which for her means difficulty walking, difficulty doing activities of daily living (getting her own food, going to the toilet etc.) and a mild intellectual disability. she also has epilepsy. it's been ages since she's stayed with me, so i'm not in the habit of looking after her, and i get really jumpy, if i'm in another room and i hear a noise i think shes having a seizure or had a fall. it's the same through the night, i wake up if i hear anything.

Mum just came to pick her up, and it's such a relief just knowing that i don;t have to worry about anyone other than myself. i feel a twinge of guilt over feeling relief at her going, but i've just been so tense the past few days.

it's a bit of a wake up call for me, because once mum can't take care of her anymore, she's most likely going to live with me, and i'm scared i won't be able to cope. this (hopefully) is still a while down the track, but it's really been on my mind since she's been here. I know that she could live in a residential unit (group home with paid carers), and i know that many of these are pretty good, but i don't know if i could do that.

i feel a bit better after getting that out. i'm got all of these emotions going through me, and i'm sure that the fatigue is making things seems worse. i just feel like crying, and now that i've written that i am crying. sorry to get all serious and emotional, right in the middle of my party too. much love, and thanks for listening. hug
