Hmmm to be honest I can do neither yet.. Although I prefer watching poi and spinning a staff. I dont know why I just havent got the hang of poi yet. I am sure I will soon. :P

what about a combo of both......stoi, or paff?
You can't avoid pain by fencing yourself from it.
Some times you need the help of others more than anything else
But you have to let them close enough to help......

I think that by ruling out those who do both, you are sealing your own fate.
99% of the people that I know, also do staff. Coleman is the only one i can think of, who I have never seen pick up at staff, but i have heard he does. So he doesnt really count anyway.

I'm a poi artist, but i have been using a short staff for a few years now, never with fire or anything it just looks and feels cool, its about the length of my arm so you cant *really* call it a staff...but close enough

I'm really offended, I only do poi and I feel that everyone on here is discriminating against me and my children and my children's children by wanting "both" to be an option rah rah rah

Yep, I agree, although I only usually do poi I pick up the staff whenever possible and I do a bit of juggling, contact and diablo whenever they take my fancy. I also do frisbee - that's never mentioned on here, but I want to try fire frisbee...
What a wonderful miracle if only we could look through each other's eyes for an instant.

I officially don't "do poi" for many reasons.
I am a staffer. I always have been. Occasionally I will utilise other tools such as fans, whips, flogs, wands and bowls, but in terms of poi vs staff - you will see me front and centre of the staff camp.
(disclaimer - I have been known to use poi in group performance routines, but only when necessary)

i do bothbut staff is much more adaptable to your own tricks, plus poi have the tendancy to smack you in the balls

apples and oranges to me. my poi is way better than my staff so i guess you could say that i'm simply poi. although i'm not very good at either since i've only been running poi for about 3 months. as for staff i only pick one up when a staffer wants to use my poi.
