Those videos really are rather silly....

What they are doing looks sick/ savage/ stupendous but the quality isnt that great.

But sI did see some of the contact baton...and you are right.. they do open a can of whoop ass...in fact.. many cans of whoop ass.

Cheers Mr Glass!!!

Ok here are the first batch of sequences for folk to have a look at and try to tell us what the hell is going on:
Especially the 2 big sequences below

1st place senior womans - Chiho Honjo - Japan (heeey start with the best)
file: Senior 4

red dress
0:55 opens with angel roll
1:20-1:32 big horizontal back of neck sequence
2:00 vertical maybe 2 angel rolls ?
2:25 3 fast btb throws and catches
2:39 to 3:02 !! vertical sequence with georgeous above the head pirouettes, a lot of elbows and underleg this really needs analysis Mmmmmmm

quad pirrouettes to btb catches and triple illusions are the order of the day

biggrin

2nd place senior womans - Chiharu Tachibana - Japan
file: Senior 8

0:45 sec - 1:03 sec Opens with a fly contact sequence horizontal monster roll 3 times round and variation on the neck then it goes everywhere neck and shoulders with a lot of 1/4 and 1/2 body turns

2:45 - 3:03 sec awsum vertical head and neck and elbow sequence

Plus there are a lot of little manipulations, drops flicks stops and holds that deserve a 2nd look.

I need to put on my ompa loompa suit and go hide in benders bedroom

Does anyone else find the clean cut kid in a shiny gold shirt wiggling his hips to "Born to be Wild" slightly disturbing? (fi-men07)

By the way, it looks like the quality is a lot better in the combined files (fi-men etc) than the individual clips (fi-men01 etc.)

GET THE DVD
if you have any interest in stick at all
get the DVD of the worlds baton 2004 smile
TODAY
You will be very happy smile

if you like throwing, catching contact and spinning that will make you go eek biggrin cool

Today I think of fire staff as the slightly snotty younger brother of baton twirling.
Fire staff is probably going to grow up to be far more cool than baton
but right now the young one is still wiping boogers on its sleeve.

Today I'm watching the Pairs esp the japanese eek biggrin cool crickey

meghan kept shrieking about costume changes and fat birds and skipping through things so it's a bit of a blur really rolleyes

but I had to hide behind my hands whilst the Scottish ladies scrabbled on the floor with arses aloft hopelessly trying to recover their dropped sticks
