I like to spin to songs like Marco Polo by Loreena McKennitt, can anybody recommend any other tunes like that?

Thanks!

Having a laugh? Someone asks a valid question that HAS NEVER BEEN POSTED ON HOP PREVIOUSLY.
(go read it)
and you fill the thread with this stuff?

Simian, I'm sure if anyone had an answer they would have posted it.

And since when do any of the posts in this forum stay strictly to the subject?

Edit: Lol, good timing UCOF

strictly on subject? never

vaguely on subject. always

When someone posts a question it is extremely impolite to entirely fill their thread with flippant posts and no answers.

No?

Good work jonny. You're the one person (myself included) who's been on vaguely topic.

Fair enough... from here on in I will only post in topics that remain strictly along their subject lines - and people wonder why others are leaving HoP?!!!

do you think that maybe a sticky thread devoted to music would be an idea?

and i was actually replying to firepoise's comments, and the fact that people found stuff.

Oh no no no..

dont think you are leaving just like that.

Im with monkey on this one after a recent epihany.

I, and ive been here a looooong time, have never seen anyone ever ask:

"does anyone know a song similar to this one"

I doubt that searching would do much good either if it has never been discussed before.

Besides, Durbs started it wink

Fair enough UCOF, but if anyone has an answer to the question I'm sure they will post it all by themselves - you have to credit the forum users with a bit of sense!!!

And until someone responds with something worthwhile (as you did yourself), I don't see the harm in banter.

i could play the 'but everyone else was doing it' line here, but that shows as much spine as a jellyfish. It is a very easy thing to do, to go with the flow.
anyway:

Loreena McKennitt / The Book Of Secrets
Loreena McKennitt / Live In Paris And Toronto (Disc 1)
Loreena McKennitt / Celtic Collection
Loreena McKennitt / Winter's Time

are a few of the cds that showed up from cddb. try asking for them at your local music store.

Which was what happened to Raphael, my original point exactly.

As well as crediting forum members with a bit of sense, it also helps to assume that most people have a sense of humour... though, admittedly, I'm fairly pissed off now

oh please, do i get credit if i delete all my posts and blush too....

Im not having a go at you ucof, i understand your motivation.

im not totally disagreeing with you either simian. We were rude, and we enjoyed it. i dont think anyone can deny that.

In light of the recent debates about people posting the same old questions, its not surprising that it happened. Its just doubly unfortunate that nobody, me included, realised that the question was in fact unique.

I hope everyone agreees that argueing about this in this thread, is just as rude and pointless as talking rubbish. i.e. not having anything to so with the original questions.

I for one, have nothing more to add here and would ask that every takes a breath and lets the tension go.

Ah dear, the joys of thread hijacking, similar-sounding songs and propriety on Home of Poi.

Raph, hope you find what you're looking for - if you search for an artist on Amazon it normally brings up related material (as Jon pointed out earlier).

Aidan... I agree, we were rude... and it was fun.
Oh well.
