Hello!
I'm Lynne, 26, in the Midlands. Been learning poi for about 5 weeks. I can do backwards and forwards weave, and butterfly and reverse butterfly as well as possibly other thing si don't know names for..
I can't do shoulder or hip reels to save my life, but i'm trying!
Other stuff? Job hunting, student (psychology degree), reading, being boring

Meep- well just after New Year, me, Spitfire, Pink, and Eleanor are going down to Brighton. (Probably on about 3rd-5th Jan). You're more than welcome to join us if you like.

Pink suits everyone? Perhaps. But it takes a certain calibre of person to carry off lime green, and i am not that person.
So, I'm going to a party on sat night, and there will be cute lesbians.
Can i wear jeans and a shirt with flowers on? I promise it's a nice shirt. Either that, or a jumper, but i don't want to get too hot, and i can't wear anything with short sleeves.
I much prefer the days when i didn't care and just what wore what was on top of the pile

A shirt with flowers on- well that depends.
If it's a flowery shirt that screams out "1950s, Grandma, pot of tea and cakes"... then definitely not!
If it's subtle and cool kinda flowers (surfer kinda style maybe?), then yeah.
I have 2 favourite shirts. One is my black 'dyke' shirt (it screams lesbian at you!). The other one is a 'rip curl' surfery style one, so also suits me well.

It's not a Grandma shirt, but I'm not sure if it's a "pulling" shirt (not that i have any intention of "pulling" anyone, but it would be nice if they didn't think i was a dork!)

Ok, well wear the shirt.
Then if you find it doesn't work for you, you can always just... take it off.

My friend rescused me by lending me a shirt. It seems to have done the trick, as I'm now seeing said girl. We're very cute - acting like teenagers
(that's being young and silly with each other, not going out graffitting and burning bus stops down!)It hasn't been long as yet, but she's nice, and we're on the same level with a lot of things, so i think it has a good chance of working.
She has never seen poi, and will see me spin fire tonight i hope (query - is it good to let new gf see you burn yourself to a crisp in the frist week of a relationship?)
I can do a full waistwrap now - i think! It looks good, and my legs are less bruised. But i was so tired last night that i gave up on poi and started learning club juggling instead. After an hour i could manage 3 catches every other toss :roll:
Hmm. I need to get dressed, have lunch and go to the gym. I'm so tired - something to do with spending lots of my waking hours (including til 4am) with a cute girl!
