It's about a 20-25 minute drive. And that was on a 125 with me, Brad and a bag that weighed about 6 or 7 stone. It's absolutely stunning, a sand bar that formed very recently (last few hundred years) cutting off the pool from the ocean, which is green.

10 days indeed. It's gonna be mental.

Tuesday 27th July

3 days to go to find £230 to pay my rent. I went to the bank yesterday to use their phone to ring Student Services, but i got through to an answerphone, so i left my number. I think they tried ringing this morning, before i woke up. I shall try again from work later.

After getting back from town yesterday i attempted to start tidying my stuff away and unpacking. After all, i have lived in the place for nearly a month. My room's starting to get a bit more sorted anyway. Now i just need to find places for all my guitars and books and we're home free.

Had a very quiet night last night as a result. Played guitar a bit, worked out a couple of new songs, wrote some lyrics etc. Watched my housemates tv for a bit. Not very interesting so retired with a book. Turned the light off about 1am and lay there thinking. Very dangerous thing thinking.

Woke up this morning at 10am and showered as quickly as possible just so i could get in here and HoP. How sad is that? biggrin

I'm off to work in a little while, then i have to get back to trying to raise money.

I just read the whole thing. Notice how long it is since you mention Mojo? Not on this page. Woohoo for (i hope) progress.

Know how it feels - i got dumped in nov, and spent a couple of months crying over it. It's a bit better now, and we have managed to stay friends.

Good luck with finding that rent money!

But thanks for the kind words none the less.

Work is so boring. I divide my time between trying on clothes and having sneaky fags out the toilet window.

Rang the bank, they're supposed to be ringing me back. *fingers crossed*

Wednesday 28th July 11.38am

The bank haven't rung, but i seem to be able to withdraw money. Much confusion. I'll wander down there later and try my luck.

Got back from work yesterday via the bank, Tescos and my dealers house. Smoked myself into a happy stupor and played guitar. Mojo texted me. "It would be good to see you". Not sure why it'd be good for her to see me, maybe she's looking for reassurance that i'm still heartbroken and desperately want her. Some girls are pretty sick.

I retired to the faithful pub, and sank several pints of cider while reading, having a strange conversation with a German guy about his love life (which seems to have been written in part by either Tom Clancy or Clive Cussler or someone of that ilk) and playing pool. My friend Priscilla turned up, back in town for one night only, which was cool. As i was leaving the pub i was talking to a guy i know and he persuaded me to follow him to a house party around the corner. Didn't really know anyone, one or two people maybe, but it was kinda nice. Felt a bit out of place i guess. Kept thinking about Mo. Eventually i got bored and went home.

For some reason i went and sat in my housemates room and stared at the start of the German Grand Prix. I have absolutely no interest in little cars whizzing round a track, so the motivation for this is unclear, sufficed to say i was pissed and very stoned. After about twenty minutes i realised i wasn' really paying attention so i went to bed and read for a while before passing out.

I must have left my alarm clock set, because i woke up at 9am. Blinked and rolled around for an hour, then skinned up. Showered. Ate some cornflakes and made a cup of tea. Skinned up. Drank tea. Brushed teeth, dressed, came to college. Got accused of being out of my frikkin gourd.

C'est la.

your mention of comics in another thread reminds me....

My next door neighbour Tony is the singer/songwriter/arranger/lead guitar in a band that have been mega famous for like 40 years or something. They are called The Groudhogs and were in the charts loads in the 70's and cited as one of the most important progrock/blues bands of the era. One of their albums was drawn by the guy who used to draw Marvel comins in the 70's! How cool!! Anyway, I was on their website today to see what gigs are coming up, they're in Germany at the mo and then onto Russia before coming back to do a UK tour and guess where they're playing?.....FALMOUTH!! Saturday 25th September in the Princess Pavillion so dont forget to go see them cuz they're wicked. I'll try to bring some copies of their albums down so you can have a listen if you don't know of them.

Cheers folks. Good advice all. I'll go check my balance in a minute before i go to work, and whip out the rent money and put it somewhere safe. Then i'll go sell my sweet ass to some Russian sailors down on Falmouth docks in order to get some cash for my green habit.

DB>> Anytime yer down this way man, get in touch. Always good to meet new lunatics. wink And cheers for the hugs.

Wednesday 29th July (Afternoon - Evening)

After posting in here i went and bought some fags and Rosie came over when she finished work. We smoked and gabbled at each other like idiots. (It's fun, you should try it!) Then she went home and i tidied up a little bit, had some food and watched the Weakest Link. For some reason. smile Well, you've got to get yer trivia where you can now that William G and 15 to 1 are off our screens. Come back William G, all is forgiven.

By far the best thing about 15 to 1 was the fact that even if you won your round sufficiently well to get in to the Grand Final, and then did amazingly well and won the Grand Final, all you ever won was an ancient Greek vase or something similar. No pissing around with tawdry amounts of cash. Just a big heavy useless object that says "I've got a really big brain, I won 15 to 1!"

Ah. Days gone by eh? You know, i think it's when you start reminiscing about old game shows that you realise you're turning into a wierd freak. biggrin

Around 9ish i headed to the pub, ostensibly to read "Farmer Giles of Ham". I ended up playing pool, and then, cos it was open mic night, playing a few tunes, including the one i wrote yesterday. or the day before. Curse my short term memory. All went ok anyway.

Wierd thing no1>> There was a guy in the pub playing guitar and bongos (seperately, he wasn't Dr Octopus) who i really recognised. Apparently he recognised me too, but he had the wahoonies to come and say "Are you Magnus?" I admitted to my shame that indeed i was, and it was revealed that i'd met the guy about 2 years ago in Maidstone, when he'd been living with one of my really old mates. He's moved here with his girlfriend who's going to do Garden Design here in October. Cool. Yet another cool person i know in Foulmouth.
Wierd thing no 2>> A girl a kinda know (she spins firepoi etc.) was in the pub, and she kept giving me that wierd little "i've got my eye on you" smile thing that so many girls use. I smirked and chatted with her. Kinda cute. She asked if i wanted to go to her friends house and listen to drum'n'bass. I said i'd call her.

Left the pub and went and grabbed my guitar and weed from my place, then went to aforementioned guys house and had a little jam. Was very fun, although i was a bit pissed. Then i rang aforementined poi girl and went to her mates place for a smoke. Her friends seem like a nice couple of chaps. She seemsvery confident and fairly forward. In the end i stayed for about 20-25 minutes and then danced off home. She texted me repeatedly throughout the early hours. I didn't, as i have no phone credit. But it made amusing reading. Apparently she's coming to the beach tonight to have a burn. Tra la. I may pass on this one.

Thursday 29th July

Must have fell asleep about half 2. Didn't really dream. Woke up at 9 and had a fag. Then thought "sod it" and had a spliff and a cup of tea. Then washed, dressed, did the funky chicken dance, worshipped at Ben Harper's feet for 5 minutes, and then stopped into college to post this before i go to work.

What a thrilling life i lead eh?

Hope you all have a great day.

7 days to go!!!!

I'm here now. In body at least.

Ok.

Thursday 29th July

I left college after my last post, went to Brads, removed L plates, drove Brad to dealers house. Had a smoke. Got another phone call from the mystery girl. Set my heart all a flutter. biggrin

We then rode round the corner to mine. Now, the bike has been making some wierd noises for a while now, and as we pulled up to the house the chain went BANG crinkle crinkle and fell off. F*ck. So now my only form of transport is buggered. Still, possibility i can claim it all on the insurance cos of the accident last week.

Realised that my life's in tatters, i have no transport, a [censored] job, no girlfriend (just a lot of crazy ladies circling like vultures wink) no money.

So we went to the pub.

It was curry night (gooood curry for a £5r) and simultaneously Reggae night. So lots of phat tunes to munch and drink to. Unfortunately, after one pint they ran out of cider, so after playing contact juggling for a bit with Brad and Hava (a fire spinning girl i've met at a couple of parties, watch out for her at Maenporth!) i headed back to mine. Via Spar (to buy chocolate). Brad came with.

We got (predictably) very stoned and watched Bowling for Columbine, because amazingly he hadn't seen it. Honestly, kids these days, i ask you! As it was ending Hava came over and we all got more stoned and listened to some crazy music.

Now, this is where it all gets a bit odd. For some bizarre reason, we didn't go to sleep. This means that i've worked two days without sleeping inbetween. Which feels wierd. Not to mention slightly tiring. smile Work felt like it went on forever. Had to get a train in (due to lack of wheels) and nearly fell asleep on the train a couple of times. After work i got a train from Truro to Bodmin where Tamsyn (the ex-wife biggrin) and the girls picked me up. Tamsyn dropped us at hers and drove off to spend the weekend with her bloke up in Portsmouth.

That would be it, except i keep getting these pervy phonecalls. biggrin Well, ok, not that pervy really, but you guys don't know whether any of this is true or not now do you? It's all about trust, see? smile

6 days. I'm gonna go mad from waiting. I never get this excited about Christmas!

Thats cos you don't get half of (slight exaggeration I know, but it seems like it sometimes) HoP coming down your chimney! If we did (a) it'd be a bit of a squeeze and (b) you'd get excited!
