Wow. You guys are so sweet to me. biggrin

Quick synopsis of the week then:

Sunday 24th October [continued]

Mojo came up on Sunday as expected. Was nice to see her, but she obviously wants to cool things between us (or she would have come over the night before) so I felt a little bit sad. It's hard to think about other girls. It feels like I'm betraying her by even looking. Maybe I should become a monk.

Tamsyn and the kids drove me back to Bodmin, I got the train back to Falmouth and spent the evening reading and tidying my room. I realised around midnight that I hadnt eaten anything so I had a cheese sandwich. Tried to go to bed early (half 12) so I could be up for my 9am lecture. Lay in bed in the dark til 5am. Must have drifted off around then because I woke up at 2pm. [censored].

Monday - Thursday 25th - 28th October

Went and cashed the £500 cheque that the college sent me as an advance on my loan. That'll clear off the excess of my overdraft. Not sure where the phone bill money is coming from.

The bad news is that I have managed to miss every class I had this week. The good news is I'm in college at the moment and I've spoken to my lecturers, they seem happy that I'm on the ball with what I'm doing. Just had a half-hour conversation with my ethics teacher about "hyperreality" and the Persian Gulf War.

Went to circus skills on Tuesday, taught some poi. I snapped Brad's contact staff in two! Totally by accident of course, and I was amazed as it had only fallen to the floor from my knee. Not high at all. So now I need to get me a new one, and him a new one. Bugger. Met an amazingly beautiful Norwegian girl at CircSoc, but unfortunately she has a boyfriend. However, said boyfriend is having a birthday party on Friday and she asked us to go spin fire at it. In fact that's only one of 5 parties I've heard about/been asked to spin at this weekend, so I hope none of you minds that I will not be at any HoP day celebrations this time round. Hopefully I'll book some paid gigs from all the publicity.

Went to Lucy and Sarah's on wednesday night, with Nick, and played scrabble. I even won a game! Now I have to do another story for the Student Times, this time on Manchester University.

Incidentally, I rang my landlady after that threatening letter came, and explained to her what was going on. She asked me to put it in writing that I'm gonna pay her, and seemed content with that.

Anyway, I have to go and research this story, as the deadline is monday. Take it easy all.

Thursday 28th [continued]

Left college, went home and had some food, spent a couple of hours tidying my room. The landlady's coming over next wednesday to inspect the place, so I have a deadline for sorting my sh*t out! Made a couple of phone calls to a couple of beautiful ladies, then watched Question Time and This Week with Nick, then went to bed and read Baudrillard until around 6am then fell asleep.

Friday 29th October

Woke up aroun 2ish. Had a shower and a coffee and then came into college to work on this story for the ST. Phoned a bunch of people and tried to get some workable quotes. Now I have to run to the shop to buy paraffin so we can perform at this party tonight. Brad has ordered some new monkey fists (for me and him - what a little beauty) from this very fine website, but i don't think they've arrived yet, which means yet again we're sharing toys. Not very professional, but there you go.

Ah well. Thanks to all of you who've sent me encouraging messages and stuff, it really does help. I don't mean for this thread to turn into a "come-and-comiserate-with-mags-on-his-terrible-life" thing though. I am happy (superficially wink) most of the time, and it's just in the middle of the night that my brain betrays me and starts thinking about sad stuff to stop me sleeping. I am in love with Mojo, but the situation is only gonna get worse between us until she goes travelling, so I'm gonna make the best of the situation and try to get on with my life without her. I must admit, there are one (or two) young ladies who could well help me get over it, but dammit, they all live so far away!

Right, there are 6 parties this weekend that I know of, 2 per night, so I'm off to the shop to buy fuel.

Have a good weekend wherever you are, and Happy Hop Day to all!

Mags, it's nice to see you smile, and at least superficially happy.. I wish for you that it was deeper though. I hope that when Mojo goes away, that you can start moving on with things.

Enjoy your spinning - I'm hoping to spin fire for the first time tonight biggrin

HALLOWE'EN WEEKEND

Friday 29th [continued]

The first party was at the beach café, a birthday party. The spinning went fine, it was just me and Brad, and we got to munch lots of free food, which was good. Quite a quiet party really, kind of a family event. I think we made quite a few middle-aged women happy with our topless spinningness. smile

We then headed into town and met up with Joss and a bunch of his housemates. Had a couple of drinks and then headed to a houseparty. We accumulated a few more people as we walked, and arrived with a group of about 20. The party was absoulutely packed, and we didn't know that many people, so Brad, Joss and I went out into the road and had a burn. After that we were kind of bored and tired, so headed home. Brad trotted home as he had to work the next morning, and I lay around reading til about 6am, then fell asleep.

Right, gotta go to photography, I'll do Saturday/Sunday in a bit.

love ya all

HALLOWE'EN WEEKEND [continued]

Saturday 30th October

Woke up about 2pm. Showered, dressed, and headed into town to buy body paint (red and blue) and some latex horns + spirit gum to stick them on with. Tried to locate some weed, but the whole town seemed to be in the middle of a ganja drought! Went round to see Esther, then wandered around charity shops with her looking for costume ideas (for her). Bought some paraffin. Bumped into my friend Priscilla who was down for the weekend, and went for a coffee and a chat with her. Got back to mine about 5ish. Brad and Joss turned up fairly soon, and we started painting. Brad and I painted ourselves red, and Joss went blue. Around 7ish Dave (the*pom) turned up and also went blue. There are a couple of photos here.

We got to the beach café for the first of the evenings two parties at about 8.15. It was the launch party for Stranger magazine, which I did do a little bit of writing for, and they'd asked us to come and spin. We span on the terrace again, behind the big glass windows, and performed for about an hour and a half. Then we grabbed a bit of free food, shoved a few free beers in our bags and headed back to my house to touch up the make-up and stuff before the main event of the evening.

We wandered into town briefly to have a quick drink, and met up with a bunch of people including my friend Travis, who took a bunch of photo's of us in our painted state. Then we walked to the Cottage.

Those of you who came to Falmouth 1 may remember the Cottage as the location for the solstice party that we attended. This time the whole house was open, with a variety of DJ's in each room. There must have been about 400-odd people there, all in various states of inebriation. We started off spinning at the entrance to the property, then moved down to the bottom of the garden. There was still a distinct lack of weed, and despite all the people looking wasted, we didn't have any drugs!

After a bit of hunting, we managed to locate a guy who had some acid, and Brad and I had a trip each. Nick, my insane housemate, had 8, and spent about an hour complaining that they weren't working.

Later on, after we'd stashed our fire stuff in a bush and gone for a wander around the house, we found a guy called Ian selling a different type of acid. So Nick and I had one more each, not that he really needed anything at that point. This time, the minute I put it on my tongue I could feel a tingling, and it was immediately obvious that this was the proper stuff.

Bimbled around, chatted to a bunch of random people, and generally had a bit of a laugh. There was a lady selling cake in the kitchen of the house, so I bought some and wandered around eating and generally tripping my happy little head off.

About 4.30ish we decided that we'd had enough and started heading for the exit. Seeing as we still had about 4 litres of fuel left, we set up camp at the entrance again, and burned for all we were worth. At one point my drug-addled brain completely switched off - I have no idea what I was thinking about - and I kept suddenly coming round and realizing that I was playing with fire. I did as many wraps as I could be bothered to do, including neck wraps, double wrist wraps and all that jazz.

Essentially, I totally lost myself in the music, fire and acid, and had a lovely hour of just dancing like a fool. I couldn't see further than my flames, and at one point, when I extinguished my poi, a bunch of people started applauding and it kinda freaked me out, as I hadn't been able to see them. Still, it made for a really nice end to the evening, and once the paraffin was gone we wandered up the drive towards the road, preparing ourselves to walk home.

Taxi drivers in Falmouth are pretty clever. There were two parked on the road outside the party, even though it was half 5 in the morning, and after a quick "Is that a taxi?", "Yeah I think it might be" conversation, we jumped in it and completely failed to have a rational conversation with the driver as he took us home.

Sunday 31st October

Once back at home, Brad, Joss, Nick and I lay around tripping and listening to random crazy music (gods bless Frank Zappa) and smoking the piffling amount of weed we had. I had a shower, which was a lot of effort, but worth it just to feel a bit cleaner. Nick was really really hammered, the 9 tabs of acid he'd ingested all firing simultaneously. Eventually he staggered off to bed, Brad passed out, and Joss and I wandered to the shop, still mainly covered in body paint.

Around middayish, Joss and Brad went to get a taxi back to Penryn, and I spent a couple of hours on the phone to a beautiful girl (who, yes, is bloody miles away). Was very fun, although I'm sure i was probably rambling, due to the psychedelics in my system.

The I had my second shower of the day to try and get rid of some more paint. I was fairly shocked by the amount of burns on my arms and shoulders. I have a network of varying chain marks and screw brandings all over me, and I kinda wish they wouldn't heal up, as they look quite groovy. If i get a photo taken of my arms before they heal, i'll post that up here too.

Once I felt a bit cleaner, wandered to Sarah and Lucy's for a coffee and a chat, then popped quickly in to see Travis before nipping to Rosie's for a smoke and a chat. Around 6pm I decided I needed to go home and sleep, so I walked back up the hill to my house.

When I got back, Nick was still tripping, but we summoned up the energy to watch "Shattered Glass", which is a pretty good movie, even though I wasn't really in the most concentrated state. The film ended around 8 and I went straight to bed, sleeping all the way round to monday morning.

And that was my Hallowe'en 2004. smile

Monday 1st November

Woke up at 8.30, had a quick shower and at last made it to one of my 9am lectures. Got a gentle bollocking by my lecturer, then after the class i finished the story for the Student Times, and rang the bank to (once again) extend my overdraft. They'd only give me £150 (I asked for £400 wink) but it's something at least. Now i can partially pay my phone bill.

Photography was pretty cool, only an hour long. Our lecturer is a pretty entertaining guy who loves relating anecdotes, so lessons are rarely boring. Afterwards i went home and played guitar for a bit, but was unable to sing as I seem to have acquired a rather nasty cold and my voice sounds like i'm 13 and it's breaking. I did wonder if maybe I'd inhaled a bit too much paraffin fumes at the weekend...

After having some dinner I headed to the pub and sat reading Sophie's World for a bit, which i've borrowed from Rosie. Very good book. After a while I went to Flip's, as it was her 21st brithday and had some chocolate cake and a spliff, then we returned to the pub and drank and played pool until closing time.

Went home and watched a bit of Magnum P.I. with Nick (he's bought it on DVD, bless 'im smile) until around midnight, then hit the sack.

Tuesday 2nd November

Got up about half 9. Which was annoying, as my lecture started at half 9. Got there about 20 minutes late, which is better than not being there at all. I wasn't the last to arrive either, so I'm not too worried. Plus, it was Ethics, the one class I think i'm guaranteed to pass with flying colours.

After the lecture, I went for a coffee in the canteen with Lucy and had a bit of a natter, then I went home and completely cleaned the house from top to bottom. Feeling kinda hungry, I went to get a bowl of cornflakes only to discover that the milk had gone off. eek Decided to walk to the shop to get some more, and stopped in here (college) to check my mail on the way.

CircSoc tonight. 59 fully paid up members now, and we're thinking of expanding into a third room. The society is actually making a profit, so some new toys should be arriving soon.

Take it easy all.

Tuesday 2nd November [continued]

After returning from the shop I watched a bit of South Park and had a smoke. Around 6ish Mojo rang. Was nice to talk to her as I hadn't for a few days. She said she really misses me, but I'm determined not to get my hopes up again. She's gonna come see me at the weekend.

Circus Society was cool, a smaller turn out this week, but it gave the chance to get some practice in with my staff. We decided not to go to the beach for a burn afterwards, cos quite frankly we were all burned out by the weekend. My arms are killing. I went to the pub for a quick drink and a game of pool with Flip, then went to hers and watched Amores Perros with her and her housemates. God damn that film is long.

Got home around 2.30am and listened to Radio 4's coverage of the election for a bit. Hmmm. Is Bush really gonna win again? Dammit.

Wednesday 3rd November

No college today, so I got up around 11am. My cold is getting worse, I spent about 10 minutes coughing the minute I awoke. Had some tea and cornflakes, then had a shower and popped round to see my friends Alex and Chris for a bit. I've got to go into town in a minute so pay my phone bill, and apparently Graham is coming over to put some more RAM in my PC. Which will be nice. smile

Not sure what I'm doing tonight. I would go to the pub and sing, as it's open mic tonight, but my voice still sounds really wierd, like it's breaking, so maybe I'll give it a miss.

Basically, I stayed in and watched South Park. Brad and Gerald came over and we had a smoke, then they buggered off about half 9, and Graham came over to put RAM in the PC and installed a couple of games on it for me too. Nick returned from the pub about midnight, and after Graham had gone home Nick and I watched "Tigerland". We started watching "Rounders" too, but i was knackered so I went to bed and slept.

Thursday 4th November

Woke up about 1pm. Had a shower and packed my bag for the weekend with the kids. Had a chat with Nick. Apparently Cordelia, (the art student who lives downstairs) has complained to the landlady about us (me and Nick) saying that we're all nasty or something. Quite odd really, as I thought I got on pretty well with her. Granted, I did tell her not to be so patronising the other day when she was saying, "Look Mags, I'm doing the washing up!" But hardly cause to lodge a complaint, surely. Ah well. Nick and I are looking forward to having the whole house to ourselves. smile

Got the 3pm train up to Bodmin, where Tamsyn and the girls met me. Tamsyn was in a hurry to get off to Portsmouth to see her boyfriend, so she dropped us off at hers and drove away. Had some dinner with the kids, then bathed them and put them to bed. Since then I've been sat at the computer, playing a frankly huge backgammon tournament at zone.com. Very sad I know, but a good way to pass the time. smile

Friday 5th November - BONFIRE NIGHT

Woke up at 8.30am in a panic. Luckily Izzy had already been up for a while, so I quickly got her dressed and ran around the corner to drop her at school. Came back and fed Rheanna breakfast. Spent most of the morning reading Sophie's World while she watched CBeebies. Gave her lunch and fed the rabbit, cat etc, then went to pick Iz up. We wandered into town and I finally paid my phone bill. Hurrah! The student loan has arrived. Admittedly I owe most of it (if not all of it) to other people, but at least I feel slightly more solvent now knowing there's a bit of cash in the bank. Took the girls to a fish and chip restaraunt for dinner, which they ate some of. Honestly, I don't know why I bother. Then we walked up to the park to see the firework display. It feels kinda wierd not to be spinning tonight, as surely this is the one night of the year when we should all be out burning. Ah well. While i was sitting there playing with a sparkler Mojo came and sat down next to me and gave me a kiss. Mmmmm. Felt nice. She's off out to the pub tonight, but she's gonna come spend the day and night here tomorrow. It'll be lovely to see her, although I did have a bit of a go at her for picking me up and dropping me when ever she feels like it. She says we'll talk about it tomorrow. I am determined not to take any [censored]. If she wants me, that's fine, if she's not sure, I think she should bugger off until she is.

Just put the kids to bed, and now i'm trying to locate some weed in this crazy little town. Not having much luck at the moment, but we shall see.

Take it easy.
