Hello everyone... My name is Jessy. I haven't learned to dance with poi yet but I would like to this summer. A good friend of mine dances with flaming poi, she shared them with me once and I have never felt as energized as I did dancing with her poi. I am determined this summer to learn. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like to know where to get started. Is there a group I can get in contact with? Where can I buy poi and supplies? How should I begin?

I'll also be in Honolulu in early August for a couple weeks if anyone there would be interesed in giving me a heads up...

Thanks Much!

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

'ello! wave welcome hug

i have fire friends in the central area (fresno, sac) but not so much in san fran.

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

San Fran is full of spinners. Unfortunately, not many of them are active on this board. But there are spin jams all the time.

You live in San Fran and are going to Hawaii?

I'm really not jealous. Not at all! wink

Yeah so I'm pretty stoked about going to Hawaii too... Sux for you! hehehe... Anyway, so I found out two days ago that a friend of mine is a spinner. She's still pretty new but knows enough to teach me a bit. So how do you know there are so many spinners in SF?
