I disagree with the tall blonde hippy. I'm always analyzing my feelings and emotions and asking for other's opinions. Does that mean I'm incapable of love?
I remember watching a play a while back and the woman tells the man passionately "I love you, don't you love me?!" to which he coldly replies "We define love differently."
That concept kinda stuck in my mind ... it does seem that everyone defines "love" differently. Some people can fall in "love" with many different people simultaneously. Some people only use "love" for romatic situations and relationships. Some people throw the word "love" around as the only positive emotion in their vocabulary. Some people hold it to a different standard and almost never say it.
And who's to say where love starts? Or stops? If you love someone now, was there a time before that? Was there an exact moment when it started? I've never had that moment. That "I looked at you standing in line at the Mc Donalds and when we both ordered the same thing I knew I loved you" moment. Love isn't that superficial for me.
Then again, I'm a 30 year old, sarcastic scientist so what the heck do I know about love?

i'm a cynic when it comes to love. so there's my assurance that my answer isnt romantic idealism!
and this answer is the most frustrating thing, i know. but when you are in love you just know it. there is no other way around it. when you are asking yourself if you are or you arent, you're on the way - just not there yet.

i completely agree. it hits you from the side and you don't even realise you're saying the word love until a second blow to the side knocks you off the chair you're sitting on.

I have been seeing an Old Gradeschool friend for a week or so, and already have feelings!!! This sucks because although I know she has had the biggest crush on me since 8th grade (and brought me to her Highschool Prom), I feel huge resistance in her heart... I don't know what to think?
