Just a quick intro.

Bill is a Medical Scientist in Biochemistry.
This is boring as bat [censored] (until you realize bat [censored] can make a cool explosive).

Bill is married to Gnor who is mad keen Poi girl. While tracking Gnor's adventures in Poiland overseas Bill has met some great people online and decided to finally sign onto HOP instead of just lurking around HOPchat.

I like to make things in steel and looking for cool Firetoys to make my girl. So far we have made some huge fans and some fire fingers. I want to try fire swords and maybe a fire glaive. Also some smaller fans (3 pointers) and the list is growing. Not just looking for active performance stuff but also fire things that look great in still photos.

If found wandering please return to Gnor.

Hi Lightning,

Sadly it is a while since I did any research. Mostly I am in the main biochemistry laboratory testing just about any fluid we can squeeze out of humans. Generally standard stuff; chemical markers of kidney function, liver function, markers of disease or tissue injury. Some drug assays mainly for therapy and overdose. We do some hormones and special proteins too. Lots of urgent work for trauma and other emergency cases.

On the surface it can be a bit sterile with lots of numbers that don't seem to make much sense. But once you get an understanding of how body chemistry changes in health and sickness it is amazing stuff. I actually do like my work and am involved with education stuff both at work at at state level.

I do have a special interest in Diabetes (type1) but not into any research as such.

Cheers,
B.

Fireswords are definately on my list. Also fire glaive.
We have armour (chain mail and scale/lamellar) so should make for nice pics. Need to make some cool gauntlets for hand protection too. Working on that. I have a prototype.

We have some fans that are an okay start but I want to play with making them smaller, lighter, fixed and opening/closing. Lots to learn especially how far wicks can be from hands, how hot they burn, what size etc. Made some fire fingers but they burn too hot. Need to make wicks smaller or rods longer.

It's all learning and fun. And makes Gnor happy.

Now if I can get that laptop and wireless port she can be happy anywhere in the house.
