Anyway this is my 100th post!!!!!!

This means that I get to change my member status. Does anyone have any ideas what I can change it to?!?!?!?

Hope someone will pop by and say hi… I have refurbished for the new style HoP board with lush purple velvet sofas, soft carpet and I have just put a few more logs on the fire. There is tea and chocolate hobnobs if anyone wants them. Feel free to make yourself at home.

you should put a disclaimer for the americans.....our version of lemonade is different than yours. so we'd be making it all wrong if we didn't know otherwise

(remind me sometime to tell my funny story about how i discovered UK lemonade is different than US lemonade)

when i was working in france we drank buckets of that stuff - it makes the best squash ever biggrin

all americans should probably use 7-up or sprite instead of lemonade for this cocktail.

remembering to remove the lime flavouring first of course smile

did ya know there's a purple liqueur called parfait amour ubblove

there is a dodgy american version of that too - the french one is a lovely purple curacao flavoured with vanilla and almonds and while the american one is purple too, it is made from spirit, lemon, coriander and sugar umm

will have to sample one of those Izzie Wizzie Bang Bang's one day but i think only tea can get me through this last 45 mins of work...

sounds like something i tasted called 'eau de vie'.

just two shots of it and one of my friends had his head in a bin ubblol

it's not at all what it says on the tin and is more like a concentrated version of the smelly stuff stuck to those magic tree car air fresheners (similar to potpourri but fake).

parfait amour is evil by itself but good in vodka cocktails, like this one:

1 part parfait amour

1 part lemon vodka

1 parts squeezed lemon

1 part cranberry juice

shake and strain into a long glass, top up with lemonade (sprite or 7-up for those in the yooessay).

right, i'm off home.

i'm well in the mood for drinking now though! beerchug

Coleman - are you a barman? I think we should go out drinking and see who can come up with the ponciest cocktail.
ubbidea Perhaps we could invent a new one and call it the HoP.

i only how to make about six cocktails and don't know their names but they're all lovely ubbangel

i think the 'hop cocktail' might already exist ya know - something to do with marmite and nutella on one piece of toast...

just seen you live in cheltenham - an ex-roommate of mine used to live there but then he moved to thailand.
lucky bastard. ubblol

Morning people, wave
Well finally after 7 months of practicing I plucked up the courage to light my poi last night. Hurrah. ubbrollsmile biggrin ubbrollsmile

It was fantastic. I can believe how unscary I found it. the only problem is with all that fire around me I forgot all the moves and was standing there doing the weave for ages. But it all came back to me. And amazingly I didnt set myself on fire!!!! ubbloco

It was outside the local pub which was built in 1610 and is gorgeous, in the middle of the valley, with snow all around me and I was with my poi partner in crime, the lovely Al. He also lit his poi for the first time. It was perfect!!! smile
Sorry to go on but I am just so pleased.

Beaming smiles weavesmiley

yes he will be visiting at least but he doesnt know his exact plans yet as it has all been quite sudden. I said he should move in with me and be my house b"tch but I suppose I would have to get a house first. My worry is that he will go back to Oz (he's australian by the way) and never know what has been going on in my head all this time. Then again does it matter if he knows or not. Maybe he knows but doesnt care. See all the stuff that is running through my head. I am living in a whirlwind of indecision.

if this is why you are hesitating, tell him! smile

yeah, maybe your suspisions will be confirmed, but at least you will know.

if he was going away forever i could see the futility of your situation and more to the point, the comfort factor that comes with not telling him.

however, if he plans to come back, at least let him know that if you had the chance you might have wanted to explore your relationship a little deeper with him.

the worst that can happen is that you flatter a friend.

which isn't a bad thing to do at any time wink

Thanks coleman.

Good advice..I think I will talk to him tonight. I would regret it if I didnt say anything whether he comes back or not.

I like the thought of flattering a friend!

Hello people. wave

Though I would I should add to my intro as it had slipped into infinity.

I am travelling at the moment doing a "world" tour. I have just spent a few days in the Cook Islands. Am feeling a little sunburnt. Now I have just made it to Christchurch, NZ where i am going to stay for about three and half weeks to catch up with friends. then off to Oz. I am hoping to make it to poi meetings in Melborne and Adelaide as well as Christchurch. Then off to Asia.

If there is any one in Christchurch who wants to meet up then PM me and that would be cool, I am going to the Bridge tonight in the hope there may be some people around.

Never did tell my poi boy how I felt and now I dont know when I will see him again. ubbcrying it was for the best though as he is still a really good friend and sometimes good friends can be hard to find.

bye for now
