Hey all, here's a lil update:
25 years and one month ago, i last saw my homeland as a refugee fleeing on a beach during a new moon,
This thursday, i hop on a plane to find the place i was born (Baclieu, Vietnam)
oh, and my niece was born at 10 this morning, Stephanie was 4.5 kg!!

I've arrived in vietnam and am very happy about being able to find my family in rural provinces, the grave of my grandparents, the places i lived before fleeing and the building iwas born in!!!

A tiny village on a cemetary on the outskirts of Gia Rai, Baclieu province.
The small mound in the foreground is what beloved ones are buried in until the family can afford better graves if at all. This is a big deal in rural Vietnam, where ancestor worship is taken seriously. I was born 5 minutes away from this spot.

A very special thanks to Josh, Kate n co for pulling of an even better gathering this time around.
Clearly, their work has paid off and there was a *definite* acceleration in skill - oz twirlers have something to look forward to in the calendar to come together and skill swap the insane amount of talent that has boiled since the last gathering.
My hat goes off to contact chris (Cirque Mystique) who was leet last year... and now is absolutely killah on contact singles, doubles, triples and poi.
Thanks also to my work that needed me to fly back tonight... missing out on the wikkid 15 act fireshow. :weeps:
