Happens to me all the time. Don´t worry you´ll be fine in a day or two... And you´ll find you spin better than ever:o) just relax and don´t touch the poi for a while..

Smile.. It confuses people..:)

I get this problem all the time. I find it is when i am concentrating too much about one particular aspect of poi. I get wound up about not progressing technically or rythmically a certain trick i could always do and so on. But i find the more i try the worse it gets. And i have posted a thread with the same title before and at another incident one titled I HATE POI.
Do you have another hobby of any kind?
I try to balance devil sticking with poi so if one frustrates the other is there. Also i found if you REALLY want to poi then put your favourite song to poi to on but not too loud (so you can hear the noise of the poi) and close your eyes. When the song comes on just do the most simple of tricks, the ones you could do for hours (mines the 5 beat weave) then as you go hopefully as i do you will just flow into other simplistic moves like the butterfly and such.

I find that this triggers me to remember why i like poi and what i learn't, and am still learning, it for.

Just my way, hope it helps.

Christof...theres a very good chance that this is a GOOD THING!

Physical manipulation and the learning processes involved has been a hobby horse of mine for w while now, originally due to my interest in juggling.

Quite a few people have periods where they 'lose' their skills for a short period of time, often after going to a convention or learning a number of new skills in a short space of time.

After this period, everything comes back, and then some. Their spinning either gets better, or they find some hard tricks are a lot easier, or even that they don't need to think so much about new moves...

no-one really knows exactly what is going on, but a number of theories point to the brain, muscles and nervous system actually physically changing the way they are and/or interact with each other.

So, you may be experiencing trouble because your body is re-wiring itself, in order to spin better afterwards.

And this happens to a lot of people, so the chances are quite high that this is what youb are experiencing.
