Seems like a logical thing to do, why jump striaght into 4 when you could build up with 3. I'm picturing some cool things, though I don't know if any are possible. Just thought I'd see if people have experience with it, I'll try it out for myself tomorrow.

ive tried 4 poi with a small stick for holding onto linking them the effect is u still move the same for weaves but double the flame so naturally double the flame

learn how to use meteors. I wouldn't advise going from three. You can't think of the hands seperately, you kind of think of the four poi as one entity. It'll make sense when you nail it. Very comprehensive threads in Other Toys sections.
after that it becomes like double staff, with some beautiful wraps.

construction:
1. Try using 2 large solid rubber balls, the bouncy type. ( found in the pet store, for dogs). Indestructable.
2.Get two eye-hooks and screw one down through each rubber ball. (the hook with the circular bit instead of the hook shape) Get large ones.
3. Go to the Chandelery. ( The place you get equipment for sailing )
They have a huge selection of greeaaat rope. Take your pick.
4. Go home and tie the two rubber balls to your rope.
I'm 5'11" and I use a 2m length of rope.
Whatever suits you really.
One meteor, 5 minutes.
Enjoy!!
