So if your ever at a rave and think, "Hmm that laser just got me in the eye" maybe you should leave...or look th other way for the rest of the night.

It's a real problem. It was one thing that we did at DanceSafe to work with promoters to ensure that lasers were pointed up and not down at the crowd.

It's kind of ridiculous that any one would even consider pointing them downwards...

I think it all depends on how much damage has been sustained by the retina, some things can't heal, even over time. Some damage may get repaired but I doubt they'll ever have full sight again

An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind

Thats really horrible. I was hoping it would just be tempory sort of "flash" sort of thing. I hope they are all doing allright and getting the right treatment.

There's a good (not to mention scary) thread on laser damage to the eyes at https://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=167718

It may stop, but it never ends.

Same goes for UV cannons, if you spend too long looking at them you get cataracts that don't heal naturally.

I make every effort to have mine pointing at the decor and not the crowd, and if you're a DJ sat in the middle of a lot of decor facing one of these thing's, I'd recommend wearing sunglasses with good UV protection. You can get clear lenses that have it.

You aren't thinking or really existing unless you're willing to risk even your own sanity in the judgment of your existence.
