It's a real problem. It was one thing that we did at DanceSafe to work with promoters to ensure that lasers were pointed up and not down at the crowd.

Posted:I think it all depends on how much damage has been sustained by the retina, some things can't heal, even over time. Some damage may get repaired but I doubt they'll ever have full sight again

Posted:Same goes for UV cannons, if you spend too long looking at them you get cataracts that don't heal naturally.

I make every effort to have mine pointing at the decor and not the crowd, and if you're a DJ sat in the middle of a lot of decor facing one of these thing's, I'd recommend wearing sunglasses with good UV protection. You can get clear lenses that have it.
