Any one know how i can transfer VHS to avi? other than a tv card.............
Hey PK i had this problem, but i never had a TV card, so what i did was play it direct from my VCR onto my digi camera, from there used firewire to get onto machine.....bit long winded but it does the job and will save you routing through boxes
Looking forward to vids

Posted: reet!..... apsolute [censored] nightmare.... so i didnt leave it last night, i carried on and fought the tiredness hough found my head slumped on two occasions in the early hours. Having uploaded all the videos.... turns out it doesnt like linking to them as avi or wmv files, so i've zipped em up as rar files and am currently on the re upload, i tested one out in the module and it worked!" so this is going to be the way forward, i'll put up a link for the WINrar program and add it to the downloads section on the site to make it easy for people to unrar them rather than wondering what kind of thing they have downloaded because nothing will open it!.

Posted: no it isnt!, its set to only be viewed by admins this is so i can get the module finished then just tick the box to let you view it. i cant work on some thing while its being accessed by members especially when im editing the database directly on the server, that would be too risky. I know im only uploading but i tend to be in the DB quite a lot making a few alterations.

Know that feeling, we were messing with the sfs user database the other day while it was live - butt clentching stuff, was funny, considering weve yet to back the lot up
Dont know about you PK but im always in as admin and forget what the site looks like to "normal" users, we make loads of little updates and new module add ons and realise its only us that can see it

Posted: lmao i know that feeling all too well mate, my admin section is mental right now, way different to nuke! but this one cuts the bull [censored] out that nuke uses. I had to cut of site registrations for the last few days on the old site after i migrated them all to the new site, but left the forums running... kinda lost some stuff on migration but im not too worried about it. I spend most of my time in phpMyAdmin but i tend to lock down and back up what im palying with, but not always, some things are easilly repaired from scratch, i normally just delete a whole table then query a new one in, some reason this downloads keeps giving me syntax errors when there arnt any that i can see in the code... its becomeing annoying now, when i past it in line by line it takes them! with no errors, well i got 30 soming thing entries to paste in there so it shouldnt take long, but the module is using two tables rather than storing it in one! i dislike that, the descriptions of the files are on one table and the url, poster and all that stuff is on the main table.... miffed as to why they would want it that way but sod it. like you say when your logged in as admin its different on nuke you get all those blocks that take up most of the left side of the page and makes it look odd, you tend to arrange every thing so its fits to your requirements but when you log out and view as a user its all squiff again lol, i just got one button on mine that only admin can see and that takes us back stage where its layed out more simple, you just have to set every thing up by group so thats easy cos its all ticky boxes, took me a while to set it up, the custom blocks are kewl too, you can just enter your html right in the box and set it to who can view in groups... works a treat. Im well on the way to finish uploading every thing as RAR files now, so once i get that finished tonight im gonna crack on again with the DB and go live with the module, it just sucks that i uploaded every thing once and have to do it again, my isp keeps booting my connection too which doesnt help so i cant just leave it uploading when im sleeping or downstairs at work. it'll be worth it i think in the end, just hope people can start supporting the donations section to help us on the bandwidth situation, i know last time was the hosts fault but still i spent £60 on hosting last week and im a bit skint now, gotta find a flat too, take miss D to edinburgh, if shes not going im going on my own, and its 4 weeks from chrimbo and i havnt got any prezzies for any one yet. My loan went out today god damn it and im still owed a [censored] load of money.... gerrrr! i hate people oweing me money... that'll teach me for leanding some one £1500 lol.
any way better get back to video stuff.
be kewl.
