Perfect First Fire Poi
"These are the perfect poi for beginning fire spinners. I've spun poi for years, but up until now I've only used tennis balls in socks. These were my first pair of fire poi, and I was a little nervous. Honestly, they don't hurt when you get hit by them! It's actually very difficult to set yourself on fire! The poi themselves are great quality. I've used them about 3 times now, and I believe that they will last a very, very long time. They are the perfect weight, and don't cause too much stress on your hands, so no blisters for me yet! After soaking in kerosene, they burn for about 5 minutes, which is plenty of time to perform a good routine and not have to struggle to spin them out or find some way to get rid of all the extra kerosene."

"As usual the quality from HOP is very good and shipping was fast. For the poi themselves, the chains weigh more than the actual poi, which shifts the center of gravity above the poi. It is still possible to spin as usual, but it is something to keep in mind especially if these are your first fire poi (like they are for me). Overall very happy with my purchase, but I imagine after I get more used to fire I will definitely upgrade to some monkey poi or something similar."

"The quality of the build on these is excellent. Using Crown fuel, dipped and spun off, I am getting burns between 2 and 3 minutes depending on how fast I am spinning the poi. They take a little getting used to because the chains are heavier than the heads, opposite of the sock and pod poi I've been 'practicing' with for a year. After about half a dozen burns, the green has started to come off of the links closest to the heads. I would recommend these to anyone as a first set. With that said, after only a dozen or so burns, I'm already shopping Home of Poi for a larger set that will burn longer and have more weight to them."

Honestly It only feels like I'm spinning a chain around. The lack of weight at the head makes stalls practically impossible and air wraps seem to be much more difficult"
