And oh yeah. I might go to Paris on 22nd-27th of may. To see Alegria (free tickets), meet the Samoan fire twirlers (apparently they've heard of me and want to meet) and go to the les Balles Habilles a Bellevilles juggling fest.

Bloody brilliant show on Eurovision! Was totally worth putting up with the crappy acts and the constant bitchy comments about Lesbians from Serbia (was surrounded by bitchy gay men at a Eurovision party!)

(Personally I liked the act with the male and female drummers, before the song devolved into generic psytrance!)

Was very proud to say to my friends 'I know him!!' (vaguely)

I showed them the photos of you on your gallery and they were like 'ooooh!' biggrin

clap clap clap well done!

10 million watch Eurovision smile

In England. I guess it was around 120 million in Europe. But I didn't get really nervous. Mostly because I knew that the camera work would be crap. So I decided to stay pissed off instead of being nervous. It worked.

Thanks Neon-Shaolin for your comments.

And Ry also. I like the pic also. I have more good ones from the same show. That sort of promo pics are easy to take. The directors and performers do all the work. I just capture it. Usually there isn't enough light but a good camera helps as you surely know.

I'm hoping to buy a studio flash set after this summer (I got the money but not time to use it now wink) I finally bought a flash (430ex) for my Canon 350D. And I love it. I haven't taken that much pics lately but hopefully this summer and my travels will be good for it.

I bought my tickets to Paris! And I get to see my favourite Soleil show live and meet some of the performers... ubbrollsmile

mm... 430EX.. perfect accompaniment for the 350D/400D. Have you discovered rear/2nd curtain sync yet? It's a fire shot must-know wink

Studio flashes! Wow.. Getting well and trul into it then.. I'd love to have a set of Elinchromes or Alienbees.. but no room to set them up in.. just as well though. No money to buy them. ubblol

Thanks for the tip Ry. I'll look into it! I don't really have any space for the studio flashes either at the moment. But they work outdoors also.

Here's the Eurovision video also...

Oh my god...

I just returned from Paris. I saw Alegria once from the third row right in the middle (!!!) and twice from the backstage (!!!!!!!!!!!!). biggrin

It was such a good trip! It was so inspiring and motivating to see how the Cirque works and talk with the artists and get hints on promotion and such... Funny thing was watching the show from television backstage sitting on sofas with the artists... Then when it was their turn they went on the stage and on the television and then came back to sit on the sofa again... It was magical... biggrin

And I also met Ima, Das, Meast, Maelle and some other people... Belleville wasn't what it used to be (last year) but it was good to be in Paris again.

Now I got a few hours before heading to the airport again. Singapore here I come! Iceland was cancelled so maybe I'll come to Play after all.

A few new pics in the gallery...

Hey all.. Since my last post...

I went to Singapore and Thailand to perform, meet friends and do a bit of community work for 1,5 months. Here's a video of the work we did in Khao Lak, Thailand.

[Old link]

And here's the video of my performance in the Bornfire Firefestival in Singapore

Then had 10 days in Finland before going to Play festival in England and EJC in Greece. Got back home a week ago. And I'm trying to stay here for 2-3 months.

Pictures of all of these trips can be found at https://flickr.com/photos/anttisuniala/

Sorry to be brief. Enjoy the exterior.

People who know me a bit more know that I sometimes am not the most positive person. I had two gigs one weekend that I was btchng about semi-seriously for some good some not so good reasons. But before the shows I came to realise that even if the setting or event isn't as good as it might've been on some other gigs that I think highly of... there's still plenty of good entertainment/art-loving people in the audience that will really appreciate our shows. So what the hell am I btchg about? And after realising this (again) I had a lot less stress about the gigs and they went well ofcourse and I felt really good about them. In fact I haven't felt so good and confident on stage for a while now. And I really enjoyed the rest of the events also.

All of this was a good reminder to stay open minded and not presume anything. You never know what'll happen. The smallest gig can be the best gig you'll ever have.

So expect some more great photographs to come.... There's loads of new pics btw on my Flickr account.. EJC, Play etc.. https://www.flickr.com/photos/anttisuniala

I got a new group! Sorta... https://www.anttisuniala.com/trio/index_en.htm

We formed a duo with my old classmate doing lovely street circus. We had a great paid show at the Night of the ARts in Helsinki a week ago and went busking after that and made a small fortune with only 4 shows. I really enjoyed being on stage as a duo again and talking crap and just go crazy on stage and make people laugh while providing them with a high class circus act at the same time.

We got one more show coming up next week... ubblol

We used to be called "Trio Tulitaide elättää minut ja perheeni" which translates to "The Firearts brings the food to the table for me and my family Trio"... But now we're just the "Heitä tulta Trio" = "Throw fire Trio" which translates better to "Give me a light Trio".

Maybe we'll make a video one day. We'll prob never make much shows but I'm trying to get us to compaire the next Bornfire festival in Singapore.

Unreal Eurovision stuff. Camera angles amaze me. Cmon guys shoot the good stuff

Is it the Truth?
Is it Fair to all concerned?
Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Thinking about the Eurovision still upsets me. I was hoping to get a video that I could use for promotion like "look... this is the routine I did in the biggest televised gala in Europe". But now it's just "yeah if you look closely you can spot a few tricks that I did. And my face. I was there." Sigh...
