im sorry, dont know any sites for flagging. All i can really tell you, its pretty much the same thing as poi. Id learn all the lessons on this site for poi. But id skip the Btb movies for flags, its much harder. Try to be very graceful and move your body possibly even do a flip *nothing too dangerous* and bend down and spring up. Thats how i handle flags. So look around the lessons on this site for poi. Thats all the advice i have, sorry if it didnt help.

I got mine from www.perdy.net but haven't recieved them yet, fingers crossed for a day or two.

Elwyn have you done poi before any spinning? I feel flagging is a natural progression for me. one thing I noticed is flagging seems to be a big thing in the gay world. Almost every flagger site is all about homosexual this and that. Just an observation.

If I become good enough on them I might be able to perform in the nearest gay club! that would be fantastic.

GOOD LUCK, JUST LEARN POI MOVES.

hehehe, doc lightning used to do flags and get hit on by gay boys at raves. (later he came out, so its not all about the flags tongue wink)

Dom also has some very cool flags. The thing about flags is if you do three beat moves you have to make sure to undo them...

Sounds interesting, I'll have to make good use of the flags when I recieve them and at raves or nightclubs when hit on by gay lads they can buy me a drink and then I can run off. YAY! That's the way to do it.

Just got my flags from Perdy today and they are quite smart, give a whole different illusion. I'll make good use of these. The best thing about them is that they are big, but fit into a really small compact case. Well, maybe it's not the best thing but they are cool.

that all depends on what type of flags you're using.

[sneaky plug] i make flags that can manage every trick you can do with poi. they're perfectly weighted so that you can do throws, stalls, isolations, wraps, airwraps, 5bts, you name it...[/sneaky plug]

pm me if you'd like more details

Clare, or anyone else really-- any tips on doing hyperloops with the flags?

I am doing a few, but more often than not end up with knots... Air wraps, same thing... But they look tantalizingly lovely, so I am sure I can get it. Suggestions? Right now I am crossing them in the middle, should they be interescting more towards one end ort the other? How does it differ from regular poi in this?

I love the releases, but still am not very good with catches!!lol

meteors on hold since tragically, one of my flags has gone missing...

But I sooooo love these magical toys! Thanks Faberge!

Fabgerges flags hyperloop or airwrap really well. Some others arent as easy. I found flags easier to do it with. Maybe find the hyperloop thread and explore with someone who can do them. For me its about timing and straight planes. Durbs showed us them using pendulums.

Hellos... wave

Lisa's (faberge's) flags are wicked for hyperloopery...
Andrea, not sure what advice I can give lady... I tend to play with the flags as much as I would with ordinary poi and tend to go into hyperloops the same way..

Hmmm... but one thing about flags... it's the same as poi, but slower. Everything has to be slower to keep them straight, and non-flappy (great for improving planes and stance).

It's the same with the hyperloops, you go into it slowly, and give them time to unwrap again... to keep up the momentum, I sometimes turn my body so there's that extra flick on the unwrap.

Have fun biggrin

sigh, guess I just have to work at it... Slower is always good advice!

You were describing metory turns with releases... sounds interesting, details? Other flag moves I should be experimenting with? Any good vids out thereyou recommend?

Oh, and if you see Lisa, give her a hug and tell her to email me! People over here are screaming for their very own flags...

Ok, will do... I'm sure she'll be in touch soon.

The releases are pretty far from being right yet... but, basic idea is one handle is in the top part of the hand, the other in the bottom, you're doing figure 8's and as you bring your bottom handle forward, release it and catch with the other hand.

Lol, as I said, it's not quite right yet smile I only get it about once in 15 times...

biggrin

I'm sure it'll be ok by next summer rolleyes
