Has anyone else noticed if you hit your lightbulb accidentally (not so hard as to break it), it actually gets brighter?
Why does it do this?
Any ideas?

it could be that you short circuit a little peace of the little wire that produces the light so that the energy has to travel less sistance and lhe light is brighter

hmmm not sure - it might just be because it moves about more you inadvertantly focus on it instead of the normal averted vision
OR it could be because you knock dust off it

this happens because the filament breaks but is still touching so a current is still running through it .having a smaller contact area the energy is forced to flow throgh a more restricted pathway.as we all know more restiction means a brighter light ,however this puts more stress on the filament which is why it burns out soon after

How many poists does it take to change a lightbulb?
One with tubecore, but those aren't bright and burn out fast.
One with cathedrals, because those burn nicely and longer
One with monkeyfists, let's face it, anything with "monkey" in the name is cool. =P

You missed out the one who tells the others that they've done it wrong, and that the new lightbulb should be in a different light socket
But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

i've smashed many a lightbulbs in my time. sometimes they don't smash but you have to replace them anyway coz they just wont work after, but yeah, occasionally i'll hit one and it does go brigther.... not sure why, i think it wakes it up a little or something?
