So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Hi Ry!
Just a wee medical update... No babies showed up in the ultrasound of the leg, but other weirdness. Yes, it is a tumour, but not likely a cancerous one... The test results came back inconclusive, they dont know what it is! So I have to go in for a surgical biopsy. Yuk.
Otherwise, things are great. But it is geting harder to say "otherwise..."

Mm.. hope today goes good. Oh.. btw.. flight centre.. do you want to call in on one at Toowong to compare? Basically dates seem to be outbound 22nd Dec, inbound 2nd January (to return to work 3rd Jan). I'll probably ring again to check, but let me know if you're calling too so we don't double book. It may come up in their system twice because our names are down in their system..

Have a great day at work miss, catch ya soon! hug kiss

Jean: 700 pics? biggrin Hehe you're getting the bug. Eggscellent... 700 eggs.. can I have mushrooms with that? mm omelette.. Hang on.. where am I again? Oops. ubblol

What a cute kitten! ubblove

Ry, I'm in the planning stages of a new fire toy. It'll be a while before I can afford to get everything to make it, but I'll be sure to send you pictures when it's eventually completed.

Phew, I had such a panic when I read on the last page that you were planning on going to England at Christmas! Sods law you would be there whilst I spend my first Christmas outside of the UK!
Have fun in Singapore though! When do you go? (I still think it would've been a better idea if you'd come to next years burningman instead though wink )

Lets steal a spaceship and head for the sun, and shoot the stars with a lemonade ray gun.

All I can say is they're gonna be heavy... possibly too heavy, though I'm trying to keep them as light as possible, without sacrificing strength.
Oh, and they're gonna have LOTS of fire... ie, they'll make my big fat snakes look like teensie tiny tube cores! eek
Actually, even the thought of them makes my heart race and my palms go all sticky. I just hope they work out ok.

End of August/ beginning of September.
And if you were to take in a Canada trip afterwards, it would mean you get to visit me and Spitfire in Calgary, and sneak in a sneaky Vancouver trip too. (Heard a rumour there's some guy obsessed with flowers out there, and some crazy lady obsessed with the deer in her garden... but I'm sure there's spinners out there too. wink )

Gah!! Have been working on one long reply post during the intermittent 3 second breaks I get every 8 minutes or so, and was nearly finished when the computer chucked a spaz mad2! Not happy Jan!!!

And Singapore! Thought they'd never ring back with the tickets. Good to see someone's pulled their finger out aye. And Singapura to celebrate! bounce If it's like those 2 dodgy Thai restaurants though.. hmm..

See you in a bit miss! hug kiss

Adam: Well, I suppose if you can get the same quality poi from somewhere else for $10, or the poi that you can get suit you, why not.

All I can say is HoP stocks some really good quality gear, and I wouldn't use poi from anywhere else (of course unless if I made them myself...)

(how's that for a plug! Where's the sponsorship application.. confused)

Andrea: Special occasions ubblol Like getting up in the morning *spin tassles*, leaving the house *spin tassles*, entertaining the rellies *spin tassles*.. ubblol
