So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Laura: Yes- was actually thinking about slinking through Bristol on the way to Somerset (my folks likve somewhere between Somerset and Devon), seeing how Bristol does seem to be collecting a few HoPpers.. I didn't even know you were in Bristol! Thought you were elsewhere in Europe! How about you continue tempting Kelly and maybe she'll up and leave Cornwall to join you guys too? wink

Last time I went over, I pretty much took a coach from the airport.. passed a couple of nice places and theoretically, Bristol's along the way. Actually come to think of it, I took the train and went through Bristol from Oxford en route as well.. hmmmm.. also passed Bath I recall.. thought about getting out cos it looked so pretty but you know.. schedule schedule..

But yes- Kyle says so many nice things about you. We must catch up! Gets a bit tricky because I need to spend a pretty significant amount of the trip, potentially just before xmas to maybe the 2nd.. in Devon.. you know.. folks and xmas and stuff. And I want to fit in Spitz and at least a couple other places where HoPpers live.. wish we could go for longer, but you know.. leave and nonsense.. watch this space for updates.. biggrin hug

*goes back to planning*

Pip: Good morning miss! hug kiss Yes. Donut delivery. ubbangel Please?

Yup. 6.30 works for me- ginga! Looking forward to a good ginga dinner. Damn! Mondays are good. biggrin biggrin biggrin

Wondering if I can go to Thailand via England, and hook up with ya all there...

Bad news, after that roller coaster day, the tumour lump thingie di in fact come back, so I do have to go get it checked and all that nasty stuff. It is proabably nothing, but just the amount of loathing I feel towards the action of entering the hospital is pretty intense... Ah well, whatever. Do it and get on with things...

Organizing a series of workshops here thaat are starting to gel in an interesting way, sort of a mini Play festival. Exciting!

Work goes well, no men in my life a the moment, lots of wildlife, that about sums things up!

hope you are well, happily juggling donuts together...

Festivals.. I urgently am in need of a festival. Feeling terribly unfesty at the moment, and work's not making it any easier. Was thinking I might be able to make it to the uk this year, but that looks foiled due to late planning. Back to the drawing board. shrug

Adam: Atonement ubblol So what part of the religion do you do? confused

Laura: Yeah. The I called flight centre, an agent which helps you come up with the cheapest options, and it's mainly due to the season, it's just jam packed.

If I'm not wrong, a couple of those flights were BA as well.. either that or qantas.. similar thing. I think we'll have to postpone the trip to sometime next year. In the meantime, we've got a trip in the works to go to Singapore. Cheap and still far enough away to feel like a holiday. Would have considered Thailand if not for the mad2 coup..

Brazil! I do hope they typo your airticket and send you to Brissie instead ubbangel Or they could typo our tickets and take us to Brizzle.. *sigh*

When are you in Brazil and how long for? hug

I dunno, I think sometimes the agencies can charge you more than the tickets are really worth, I got quotes directly from the website and it seemed quite reasonable... plus if the flights are JAM-packed, that sounds AMAZING! Jam rocks ! biggrin but hey, postponing til later next year is not such a bad thing, you should come in the summer when England can be vaguely pleasant, sometimes we have entire days without rain!! rolleyes

yeah, I'm hopefully off to Brazil in november, but the gig that's supposed to be covering my flights out there can't confirm anything until the end of october :grr: so if that falls through I'll have to stay and save for a bit longer and go in december or something ubbrollsmile
I almost did manage to weasel flights to Brissie aswell and was planning to be coming your way in dec/jan, but yes, that gig fell through... ho hum, the life of a performing monkey, you learn to love it hey? ubbloco

good luck sweetheart hug

Ry, dont be ridiculous, Singapore! No way! Come to Thailand. The coup is not a problem at all. I have been in touch with lots of friends, Thai and falung, ( foreign ex pats) and no one is the least bit worried.

It is the perfect time to go there, less of all the other tourists! More beach for us!

Come for the poi dojo!

Had the first test today, but they dont tell me anything. It was an ultrasound. Wierd being in there with a tumour, and they have pictures of cute little babies and fetuses everywhere.

I started imagining a baby popping out of my leg! Would I be surprised? No,not particularly. I have seen odder things... wink

Laura: It seems that due to the cost, the UK is now put off til next year sometime. Checked a few airlines directly and they all seem to have about the same prices, if not pricier frown

There was a bit of an option to fly to Darwin then to Singapore then to Darwin and back to Brissie, because Singapore's budget airline Tiger Airways seems to operate from there, but it kind of adds up if you include things like losing a day travelling each end (arriving at misc airports at 2 in the morning!), and a measly 15kg (!!) baggage allowance.

So anyway.. how does the life of a jam-loving performing monkey go these days? hug

Andrea: Haven't ruled Thailand out just yet, just need to get Pip's passport sorted then we can make all sorts of bookings.. the other option was to fork out the same cash, buy a van and go road tripping! But yeah. Have to sit down and plan it a bit first.

Is it definitely a tumour?? Baby popping out of your leg ubblol Eww. But it'd be a cute one.. ubblol But ewww. hug

Pip: Yes! Early moonfest! Can't wait.. just want to play the whole day. Hope there's some nice sun. ubblove sunny And can you think of a better way to spend an afternoon? biggrin Who is Kali?

You could call Lou only she's now phoneless.. apparently. Terrible form. tsk. shrug

And And!! Green flea markets!! ubblove! Tomorrow will be a good day. meditate hug kiss

And and and! Steal somebody else's guests hun! tongue ubbangel

Lou: Yup! We'll catch you at the West End markets in the morning, and mosey on to moonfest from there? Bring your clarinaaht and wings and stuff too aye. It'll be great! biggrin

Mm monkey fists. The small ones are pretty good, but hurt more than the tubecore if you do something silly.. The big ones. Jeebus. I've got them and don't know what to do with them! ubblol So I bought another pair of small tubecore ones too biggrin

How'd the exam go miss? hug

Hey.. You know what I want? A Bengal kitten. omg they're gorgeous.

Adam: I was always the impression a fire twirler is the person who twirls.. How much does HoP sell them for? ubbrollsmile

Kels: eek Mouse in Australia?? Yes you absolutely have to make it over! On the bright side, the cost of living here's lots lower than living there.. you can spend heaps of time here! biggrin

Yes, absolutely- I've got a sofa here which you can have.. it's a bit firm, but by the time you get here, it'll be much comfified. Pip's got a spare room too if you need, and yep.. you get yourself over here (Brisbane!) and we'll sort out accom. How's that?? bounce bounce2 hug

Fyre: I didn't really enjoy fiddler on the roof that much. My favourite musicals were My Fair Lady, The King & I, and Camelot (which noone seems to have seen.. the soundtrack's awesome :love)

Silly bear Ry, you met Kali at the markets last week. My old school friend. Not heard back from Steve yet, so currenty just you, San and I going up. Paul and Lisa are also coming up in the day time and not staying as long. They were a little daunted by how massive the last one was, and Lisa gets a bit shy spinning in front of everyone.
